“Tony said you’d be here,” Kate said, jolting Penelope out of her deep thoughts.

She looked at Kate with wide eyes, wondering if she was a ghost.

“I didn’t hear you coming,” Penelope said in an accusatory tone. “Why are you here?”

Kate shrugged and said, “Curiosity. I’ve only just found out a few minutes ago that Agnes was buried here.”

“I guess the burial site of your predecessor doesn’t make for good pillow talk,” Penelope said dryly.

“Are you always this crass?” Kate asked the older woman distastefully.

“That’s a very funny question coming from a classless tart like you,” Penelope fired back hotly.

“One would think you’re my rival with the way you’re carrying on,” Kate retorted. “You had your chance and you blew it. Why then are you still so bitter about it?”
