Chapter 2 The Man Who Watched Her

It was a night where Lucy didn't get much sleep.

He was too imbedded in her mind and she was not going to forget the caf‚ man.

His voice.

His eyes.

His creepy attention towards her.

And the money.

As she was just about to shriek behind her, she noticed the piles of bills that were piled in front of her on her desk.

"Lucy Jade!" Maya gasped dramatically. "Who did you serve? The president?"

Lucy laughed as she couldn't help but. "Stop it."

"I'm serious!" Maya came up to her and gently took off the cash. It's a crazy tip?

Slowly Lucy shook her head. "Well, I did attempt to get it back."

"And?"

It was `not enough', he said.

Maya's eyes widened. He's quite a stalker, isn't he?

Lucy was surprised and instantly, both of Lucy's eyes blinked out. "Maya."

"What? Don't be deceived by old, corpulent men: they don't buy anything at all times.

Lucy quietly turned her head away.

She did not have to lie since she knew that what she told him was true, but Maya was correct.

But it was this time, something was different, though.

Too intense.

Too personal.

And strangely unsettling.

All of a sudden her cell phone rang on her desk.

Lucy soon learned how to do it and she gazed down.

The bank notice will be "Tuition Not Paid - Outstanding.".

Her tummy tightened and she made a growling sound.Her tummy beginning to growl in pain.

Reality returned instantly.

The funds generated by the caf‚ would be beneficial.

But not enough.

Not nearly enough.

"You okay?" Maya's voice was subdued this time.

But Lucy gave a nod, but it wasn't her.

"All I want to do is get some more moves."

"You need rest."

Mom, I need some money more,"

Maya took her books and put them into the old book bag, but she sighed, "Oh, well!

Lucy made her scared every now and then.

This is no way due to her weakness.

But she was suffering too much, and could not speak.

Later in the afternoon there was a great deal of activity on the campus.

The children strolled around, wearing fancy attire, and roaming around without paying a care whether there were luxury cars in front of them or not, and the children played happily.

Lucy's hooded jacket was slightly pulled up over her face as she hurried from one building to another, clutching her books to her chest.

She didn't like being a foreigner in this place.

Everyone looked polished.

Perfect.

Rich.

She constantly feared, whether she would make enough money for dinner.

"Lucy!"

She turned immediately.

Maya ran in a very excited manner towards her. The due date for the assignment has been changed by Business Management lecturer.

Lucy breathed out a sigh of relief. "Thank God."

"It's a necessity to sleep," grumbled Maya.

Before Lucy could react there was a rumbling noise around the entrance to the campus.

A few of the walkers were found amongst the students.

Others got their cell phones.

The luxury black cars made their way into the school premises.

Lucy frowned slightly.

"That's freaky," Maya whispered.

The vehicle in the center slowed down and came to a halt close to the administration building.

A man stepped out.

Lucy froze instantly.

Him.

The caf‚ stranger.

Under the light of the day today he looked even more frightening!

Tailored black suit.

Silver watch.

Cold expression.

Powerful posture.

All of the actions resounded with riches and power.

Pupils spoke in hushed tones amongst themselves.

"Oh my God."

"That's Hart Matthew."

"The CEO?"

"Where is he?"

Lucy breathed deeply quietly.

Hart Matthew.

Well, it's his name it is.

One of the nation's most promising young CEOs.

He is a big believer in education and the owner of Matthews Enterprises.

A man who is in the news regularly about business.

And somehow.

She was waiting in her caf‚ yesterday, but he was there too, in secret.

Lucy's arm was about to be cut off from her body. "YOU SERVED HART MATTHEW?

Lucy remained speechless.

His eyes were cold when he was gazing over the busty campus at Hart Matthew.

Then it stopped.

Directly on her.

Her heart pounded.

Her noise and activity were hardly audible in the hecticness.

It seemed for a second they were the only two people standing there.

He did not alter his appearance in any way.

But his eyes.

His eyes turned black as if he has met what he was looking for.

Then he started to approach her and start walking towards her.

Lucy began to have irregular breathing.

They all went away and scrambled for him.

No one would ever dare obstruct his way.

Those teachers who were close by appeared to be bewildered.

He stopped in his tracks and was directly in front of her.

Close enough to be able to entice her senses with his fancy perfume.

Near enough to be able to see that she was nothing but a small child in comparison.

"Lucy," he said, "I believe these things are your own fault."

Her name was again called out by his lips and her heart jumped in an excited manner, which she didn't get before.

"H-hello."

Maya was on the verge of going into unconsciousness.

All other people passed him by and he didn't see them.

He was the only one who had thoughts of Lucy.

I should have a talk with you.

Lucy swallowed nervously. "About what?"

He looked into her eyes and was fixed on her.

"Your future."

Just a second later she noticed a confusion on her face.

He took a black sleek card out of his pocket, and before she could ask a question again, he handed her the black sleek card.

Lucy took a close look at it.

MATTHEWS ENTERPRISES

Hart Matthew - CEO

She pressed a card against her chest, in her hands.

He then stepped just a little bit closer to her.

She spoke these words to her and her life was changed, without a single word being spoken.

"Marry me, Lucy."
