Ashton's POV
My wife was soundly sleeping beside me, and I found it so hard to sleep as I stared at her lovely face. I was terrified when she left while I stayed and fought with Gael.
It was a wrong move; I should have come after Megan. I was thankful to my father-in-law; he insisted I should fight and go after my wife. He gave me the support and encouragement I needed to win my wife's heart.
Lying naked beside her was one of my favorites, and inhaling her intoxicating scent will always bring a smile to my face, and the sound of her soft breathing was like music in my ear.
I don't know what will happen to me now that I have quit my job, but I promised to take care of my wife and son. Even if Megan was a successful businesswoman, I wanted to provide for them.
I have savings, and I can make my own company; it would not be as big as my father's, but at least it would be mine. I needed to speak with my wife regarding my plan to set up my own company.
I got offers, and I wanted to ask Megan if she would allow me to have endorsements; I could still play football, I maintained my body, and I am still the same in playing my favorite sport since I had practiced with my old teammates whenever I had the time.
But Megan and Axel are my priority now, and I can't decide on my own; I have to consider my wife's opinion. I fell asleep hugging my wife, and when I woke up, I couldn't stop kissing her plump lips; she only moaned but didn't open her eyes; my grin widened as I realized she must be so tired from our lovemaking last night.
My wife looked so beautiful even in her sleep, and I didn't want to wake her up; I wanted her to sleep, and I slowly got up from the bed, careful not to wake her up.
I put on the t-shirt and shorts that Mr. Corteza offered to me. I smiled when I saw our son sitting on the steps of the stairs.
"Hey, buddy, what are you doing here?" I asked as I sat beside him, and his face lit up when he saw me. Axel was still wearing his pajamas, and I wondered where did he get his pajamas.
"Dad! You came?" He asked and grinned at him.
"Of course, you are here, and I am sorry if I didn't come with you," I said as I looked at his adorable face, and I could tell my kid was so happy to see me.
"Is grandpa alright? Are you two fighting, dad?" He asked, and his facial expression suddenly changed, and I hated that he looked worried.
"No, we are not fighting each other, Axel; your grandpa Gregory was better than okay," I replied, and I couldn't believe he knew that something was going on with my father and me.
"Where is mom?" He asked, and I smiled.
"Your mother is still sleeping, buddy. I let her sleep since we came home late last night." I replied.
"Why you up so early, son?" I asked as I took his hand, and it felt so lovely to have this moment with my child.
"I was worried when Aunt Ava told me I didn't need to wait for you and mom last night. I wanted to say goodbye to grandpa Gregory, but Aunt said we needed to leave immediately because grandpa was upset about something." Axel responded, and I could tell he was referring to Megan's father.
"He was only tired, Axel, and that is why your Aunt Ava told you to hurry; you don't need to worry anything, son; my father knew we would be staying here for a couple of days," I said, and he looked at me, and I could tell he wanted to tell me something.
"Are you going to leave mom and take me?" He asked, and my throat felt so dry; I could see tears that welled up in his eyes, and I couldn't stop feeling alarmed as I stared at my son's face while shaking my head.
"Hey, buddy, I will never leave your mother," I replied as I took him into my arms.
"Where do you hear that kind of information?" I inquired.
"I am sorry, dad, I didn't intend to eavesdrop, but I heard grandpa was talking to grandma Lenore; he said you need to leave mom soon, or else he will do something that will make you leave mom." He answered.
I was speechless since I was looking for the right words to say to him. I wished to make Axel believe nothing is going on with our family. He is only a kid, and I don't want Axel to have a a grudge against his grandfather. I want him to grow up full of love in his heart and not hatred.
"Please, don't tell mom about it; it is our secret," he added, and I stifled a laugh.
"Don't worry, son, I won't tell your mom, but my father said I needed to leave for a business trip; you know my line of work; your grandpa appointed me to run his company.
"Being the boss, I needed to attend important meetings, and sometimes, I needed to fly to another country to attend a conference," I added, and be beamed at me.
"I want to be like you when I grow up, dad; I want to be the boss," he replied with a wide grin, and I chuckled as I ruffled his hair.
"If that is what you want, buddy, then you will be the boss, but before you can be the boss, you need to finish your studies, and you need to have good grades," I responded.
"I am good with spelling, dad, and with Mathematics too," he replied, and I tried my best not to laugh some our son looked too serious.
"Of course, I know; you got our genes; Axel, your mom, is good with all the subjects, and I was always second to her," I said, and I could see the amusement on his face.
"Wow! That is so cool; dad, mom, beat you in school?" Our son asked, and I could no longer hold my laughter.
"Yeah, but it doesn't matter to me. I didn't care if I was always in second place. You want to know a secret?" I asked, and he nodded with excitement.
"There are times I answered the wrong answer on purpose because I want your mom to be number one always in our class," I said.
"Why did you do something like that, dad?" He asked with curiosity.
"Because I love your mother, and I wished to be romantic, but she didn't know anything. I didn't tell anyone about it, so you better keep it to yourself, okay?" I asked.
"I can keep a secret, dad; I can be your best friend aside from uncle Zach," he said, and I was dumbfounded by what he had said, and I realized he was growing so fast.
"I love that, Axel," I replied, and he signed.
I told my son I needed to exercise and do my daily routines, and he said he wanted to exercise with me, and I admit I was having so much fun with my conversation and bonding time with Axel.
My heart was racing when I found my wife standing on the sideline watching us with a beautiful smile on her lovely face. There was nothing I wished for Megan but to be happy, and I couldn't wait to take her to her favorite place.
"You don't need to give me flowers, my love," my wife said after she inhaled the fresh flowers.
"Do you like them?" I asked as I took and squeezed her hand, and I was shocked when she shook her head.
"I love them; I was only kidding, my love," Megan responded sweetly, and I breathed a sigh of relief.
I could see Axel whispering to his aunt, and I wondered what they were talking about before we started eating our breakfast.
My wife devoured her food heartily, and I was fascinated by her love of pancakes.
"You better stop gazing at me; you need to eat your food now, Ashton," my wife said, and she looked more beautiful when she blushed.
"I don't feel hungry, just watching you eat; I felt so full," I said, and she blushed even more.
"Lovebirds, please, stop, don't make me feel worse," Ava said, and that was only when I realized she looked so gloomy, and even if she was smiling, I could see the pain she was trying to hide.
My wife weakly smiled at her sister, and I could tell right away; something was wrong with Megan's little sister, and I wanted to ask what happened, but I could tell they were avoiding the issue, knowing Axel was around, and I couldn't wait to ask my wife what happened.
"I apologize; I just missed Megan," I mumbled.
"Dad, you are sitting so close to mom; I don't understand why you miss her. Adults could be so complicated sometimes," Axel said, and Ava burst out laughing, and my wife was giggling with her sister, and I was out of words again.
I was smiling as I took the first bite of my pancake, and my heart was pounding hard against my chest when I felt my wife's hand caressing my thigh under the table, and I realized Megan could be naughty if she wanted to be, and I admit, I always loved this side of her.
Megan's POV"You looked so beautiful, Megan!" Alice exclaimed as she helped me with my veil."Thank you, Alice, I know you will be more beautiful than I am today on your wedding day," I responded."Ha! Don't make me laugh, Megan, you knew that is not true, you looked like a goddess while I am just an ordinary woman you can see walking on the street on an ordinary day." She responded and I shook my head."Stop that, you are beautiful, okay?" I insisted and she beamed at me before she hugged me."I am so happy for you, my best friend, so glad that the heavens favored you. You are marrying Ashton for the second time and your son is your ring bearer, and your family is complete." She declared."Yeah, I know, and I am so happy," I responded."We should get out of the car before your husband will come," Alice said and I laughed. She helped me with my gown as I got out of the bridal car, and I inhaled the fresh air, the day looked so bright and I could tell it is the best day of the year to
Megan's POV"What are you doing here?" Dexter asked right away after he opened the door of his place."Dex, aren't you happy to see us?" I asked my brother, and I could see the guilt on his face."I am busy now, Meg, Ashton, why didn't you call me?" He asked."It is something important and I hope you can spare us a little of your time," Ashton responded, and my brother sighed as he turned his back and opened the door wider so we could get inside."Have a seat," my brother said as he motioned us to sit on the sofa. His place was immaculate, and I could see that my brother was anxious like me."What do you want?" He asked as he sat in front of us."Well, I wished to invite you and be my best man since we are having our church wedding in less than a month." My husband replied, and my brother's face fell."I am sorry, but let us face it, if you will invite me, I will be bringing Monica with me. She is part of my life now, she is my fiancee, and it would be an insult on her part if I will
Megan's POV"No, that is not a good idea, Ashton," I said after I heard my husband speak about making my brother his best man for our upcoming church wedding."Why not? I want him to be present during our special day, Megan; I know it would make you happy. I knew what your heart desires, my love." He responded."Thank you for considering my feelings, Ashton, but my happiness will not matter anymore; I don't want Isabelle to be miserable on our wedding day," I responded, and he looked at me for a long time before he spoke."Megan, I don't think it will make my sister miserable; she will be happy to see your brother," he declared."Belle will be broken-hearted, Ashton, Dexter has a girlfriend now, and I hate him for turning his back on your sister." I responded with a sad expression on my face."Hey, we both know they are in love with each other, I am sure Dexter got tired of waiting, and it doesn't mean he didn't love my sister anymore." He insisted, and I raised my hands; I didn't wan
Ashton's POVMaking love with my wife would always make me feel excited and complete, and I couldn't explain the happiness I felt as I watched her sleeping peacefully in my arms after the hottest lovemaking we had ever shared. My wife turned me on like crazy, and I found it hard to stop my erection; the way she teased me blew my mind. Megan became bolder in bed, and I loved it, and I knew she only wished to please me.I was watching my wife's face with a beautiful smile on my face.I loved the feeling that I made her exhausted in bed. I knew we planned to have a night alone in the tree house, but something came up, but tomorrow night, it would be only for us, and I didn't want to stop surprising Megan.I wished to make her happy through simple things, and I knew my dad's offer was hard to decline. Marrying my wife for the second time would be the most especially gift we could give her, and I am excited since it was my father's plan.My dad and mom would be there standing beside me on
Megan's POVI know happiness was a gift from God, and after I gave Ashton's dad my forgiveness, I felt different. I didn't hate him, but I wanted to make Gregory accept me for what I am and as his son's wife.I couldn't deny there were moments in my life I wished I belonged to Ashton's world, but I realized I should be proud of who I am and what I have become."You looked so happy now, did your talk with my dad go well?" Isabelle asked when I saw her in the living room after speaking with my father-in-law."Thank God, Isabelle. Axel and I are officially part of your family," I answered with a broad grin."Of course, Megan, you were already part of our family after you gave birth to our nephew, and when you became our brother's wife, we became happier." She replied."Belle, you can't blame me for worrying because you know your father didn't accept me as your brother's wife. But right now, I was so overwhelmed with happiness that finally, your dad welcomed me as Ashton's wife." I declar
Ashton's POV"Can I have a word with you?" My dad asked me, and I nodded my head. We had been fishing for more than three hours, yet the boys were still having fun, especially my little boy.Axel had been shouting every time Lennon pulled out his fishing hook since he was the one who had been blessed to capture much fish. I was unlucky today; maybe the fishes on the lake felt the anxiousness that I felt in my heart.I was still apprehensive about my father's change of heart, and I couldn't stop myself from wondering if he was true to his words. My dad already fooled us once when he acted; he was so eager to meet and be with my wife, only to find out the truth later that he had another thing on his mind, and that was to humiliate my wife in front of everyone during the party he threw for us.He couldn't blame me if I doubted his intention at the moment. He looked so calm as he sat on the rock while I stood beside him, watching my grandpa Henry, Axel, and my brothers on the bank, waitin
