The spoon dropped from my hand but Warren got it before it could hit the floor, I stared at the meals seated in front of me with distaste. The feeling of unease settled heavily in the pit of my stomach.

"Is something wrong?" Warren asked, wiping the spoon and returning it to the dish of steaks. "Is it the food?"

I shook my head, "I just feel so uneasy."

"Why? Is it the prescription?"

Again, I shook my head. "where is Claire?"

"She left for her father's pack with Adelaide. He's on his deathbed and asked to see her so Adelaide went with her."

Amidst the feeling, I picked up the spoon and resumed eating, ignoring the discomfort.

"I must be mistaken then, for a second I felt like she was in danger. I guess it's just sadness. Fuck, I hate this connection thing so bad."

"You'll get used to it."

"I smell her blood," I said to Warren, "looks like she hurt herself. Do you think her father died already?" I asked, hating how worried I was.
