In Belladonna's mind, she could see Eli painting with a smile on his face. Then in the next second, she could hear him reading to her, then that memory faded away and the memory that took over was of Alaris saving her as he had done in the Village of Nakunriver. Then an image of a room formed in her mind. The open doors slammed shut and the windows did the same, and the voices faded away. Her eyes snapped open and she coughed out water. She could feel the water on her body, sweeping over her then retreating. Alaris was looking down at her with a ball of flames in his hand, his chest rising and falling and his facial features filled with worry. Suddenly, she remembered everything. Once again, she was angry but this time, it was different. She stood up, putting distance between them, as she took a couple of steps along the beach before she held her knees and screamed. Alaris didn't go after her, instead, he stood up and allowed his eyes to do the following.“You!” She turned to him,
“I am sorry too. I brought this upon you.”He laughed, watching the torch he had lit with his flames, burning lowly, where it was hung on the cave wall. “It seemed I deserved it.”They didn't say anything again, until she was done cleaning and was applying some ointment on the cut. “My Mother used to do this.” He sighed with relief, closing his eyes briefly.“The one of this Realm.”“Yes.” He paused. “She was a Channeler.”“What is a Channeler?”“One that can create portals.”“I thought you said she was of this Realm.”“She wasn't of this Realm exactly.”“Oh.” Her hands stilled for a moment, then she started wrapping the pieces of cloth where she could. “She was from my Realm, she worked for my mother and had escaped during the attack on my parents. She would always create portals and be away to do… some things. One day, she left her portal open and one of the assassins that my parents’ enemies had sent to kill me, slipped in through the portal. She fought, so hard and he struck her
Aniya had been thrown into the dungeon, chained down, and locked away. When Belladonna heard, she raced down here immediately. “What do you mean my sister is the monster?” She had asked Eli while hurrying away to the dungeon to see for herself what he claimed her sister was. When she got to the dungeon however, Aniya was with the veil she usually had over her face, with chains around her ankles and her wrists, while sat down on the floor. “Open the gate!” She commanded and the guards opened the gate to let her in. Lytio was here too. As the Village Head, there was nothing that went on in his Village that he shouldn't know about. Eli had followed Belladonna here to ensure her safety. He still didn't trust his Donna's sister and he didn't think he ever would.“I mean no harm!” Aniya stood up when she saw Belladonna step into her prison from the nettings of her veil. “Please, I didn't mean to hurt anybody. I have changed.” But Belladonna only grabbed her veil to search for the cut
Her heart raced. She was overly aware of his touch, even though his gloves served as a constant obstacle. “Maybe because most of the brides left behind in my head are those ones that want you dead.” Something dark glinted in his eyes. “Do you want me dead, Donna?” The heavyweight she used to feel in her chest was still there, although it no longer felt as heavy as it used to. Her rage towards him was no longer as blinded as it used to be. Somewhere along the lines, something has changed.“No.” There was a spark in his eyes. “I don't want you dead, Eli.”His voice sank into a low chuckle. He leaned forward and his sandalwood scent flooded her senses. He was too close and his presence reminded her of how “even closer” he used to be. Her eyelids fluttered and his scales held her gaze.“Happy birthday. I really thought we would spend the day differently. You have no idea how many plans I have made for this in the past.”“It is past midnight. My birthday is over.” She said with a
The men walked through the forest, moving quietly.Until they got to a point where they stopped.Witcher Galdur, the one wearing the white robes, held up his hand and they all stopped. “We still have to capture the last one,” he said to the men behind him. They were all wearing robes but of a darker shade and color. “You,” he pointed at the one carrying Aniya.“But Witcher, if we are separated from you, the guards patrolling will see us.” He responded with concern. “He will go with you,” Witcher Galdur pointed to another. “That way, you will remain unseen.”So the group split into two, the spell of invisibility over them. As they raced against time before it would expire. One took the left turn and the other took the right, agreeing to meet at a particular spot in some minutes. Therefore, Belladonna and Aniya were taken to two different places. ______Witcher Galdur went along with three men, one of whom was carrying the Bride. Everything was quiet and some guards made a fool o
Chapter 72 - In His PlaceGaldur and his group had only walked some distance further when they encountered the King on the road. No one survived a dragon’s flames. Galdur knew this and he had surrendered, taking it upon himself to give the Bride personally to the King. That was when their gaze had met and the King's steps had flattered when he looked beyond them into the trees, his eyes reflecting the fear that consumed. Galdur wished that he could see what the fear was.It would be an absolute honor to know what built fear in the heart of the dragon. But one couldn't have it all.It was harder to break into the King’s mind though, however, Galdur had too much experience and witchcraft by his side to make it work. He turned and they left. If he was lucky, their Fears would kill them and they would have one or two less supernatural creatures to deal with. The Balance would be regained and his vision would never come to pass.______Eli bathed in his own blood. The talons of the
"How Not To Get Chosen." Belladonna mumbled to herself in her silvery voice, her blue eyes on the cover of the thin black book she had just picked. It was fairly covered in dust, making the letters on it a little unreadable. She went down the ladder, then blew the dust off the book which made her cough lightly."By Moria Nakuriver." She mumbled the name of the author to herself and instantly shook her head. This book would be of no help because the author actually ended up being chosen as a bride.Moria was the daughter of the Village Head of Nakuriver, one of the seven villages that made up the the mighty Kingdom of Ignas, which was ruled by the dreaded Dragon King. When Moria was 18, she had participated in the Chosing Ritual, as the rules had demanded, and had somehow, been lucky enough not to be chosen. That was when she had written this book. Almost every lady across the kingdom started reading it, so they could be as lucky as she had been. But then she got chosen at 25, and p
Aniya was on her knees on the bed, resting heavily on her two hands as they held on to the sheets tightly while her silky black hair fell over the sides of her face, wet and glistering with sweat. Her full breasts dangled slightly as the man behind her thrusted into her over and over again. She took it all in, her eyes closed, her pink round lips, slightly parted. All the room had to light it up was a dim lantern on the dressing table, yet the images before Belladonna seem to burn her eyes. "Oh... Lytio." She heard Aniya whisper through trembling lips and she looked up at the face of the man that was behind.Indeed, it was her Mr Perfect. Lytio's hairy chest was glistering with sweats, his slim hands firm on Aniya's small waist, pulling her closer to himself, all his attention on what he was doing.Belladonna took a step back instinctively, her lips pressed together tightly, her eyes blank while her heart crushed into many pieces. "Oh... Lytio." Aniya moaned again and she opened he
