The first witness was called forward, a young she-wolf from Aldrake’s pack. She looked nervous, her hands trembling as she bowed before the Elder Council. Her gaze flickered toward Livia for a heartbeat—there was hesitation, even guilt, in her eyes. Livia caught it immediately, her chest tightening with a brief flicker of hope.

But the moment the Elder asked her to recount what she saw at the gathering, something shifted. The girl’s lips parted, yet the words that fell from them were not what her heart wanted to say.

“I-I saw Alpha Aldrake with Luna Livia… but…” her voice wavered, almost breaking, “it was Luna who walked away from him… and… and stayed close to another man. She ignored him in the crowd. She—she was the one who embarrassed our Alpha that night.”

Gasps filled the chamber. Murmurs erupted, sharp and ugly like the hiss of snakes.

Livia’s fingers curled tightly into her palms, nails digging into her skin, but she didn’t move. She didn’t speak. Her eyes, however, never left

  • The Embrace Of The Lycan King    Chapter 38: The request of a King

The soft warmth of sunlight streamed gently through the clinic’s sheer curtains, casting pale gold patterns across the bed sheets. The faint scent of herbs and healing ointments lingered in the air, mingling with the sterile chill that always clung to rooms where life and death had once wrestled.Livia’s eyelashes fluttered.A dull ache pulsed behind her temples, and her body felt like it was made of lead — heavy, exhausted, and weak. For a moment, she lay still, listening to the faint rustle of leaves outside, the distant calls of pack members beginning their day, and the steady thump of her own heartbeat. Then, with a slow, shaky breath, she forced her eyes open. The world swam into view — the familiar ceiling of the Blood Moon Pack’s healing wing, the faint hum of magic that still lingered in the air, the lingering traces of someone’s presence beside her bed. Confusion furrowed her brow.Where am I? What happened? She shifted slightly, and a sharp pain shot through her chest, makin

Darkness. That was all Livia knew. She drifted weightlessly through it, floating in a space where time had no meaning and the pain of her body felt distant — as if it belonged to someone else. There was no trial here, no judgmental eyes, no lies being thrown at her like daggers. There was only silence. And yet, in that silence, memories began to stir. They came like whispers — faint at first, then clearer — moments from a life that now felt like someone else’s. A warm hand holding hers beneath the stars. The first time Aldrake smiled at her. The promises they made beneath the silver moon, vowing loyalty and love. And then… the pain. The betrayal. The coldness in his eyes when he looked at her as though she were a burden, not a bond.“Why…?” she whispered into the void. “Why was I never enough?”No one answered. The darkness remained still. Then, she saw another memory. A small girl, younger and gentler, running through the fields with laughter in her voice — Amber. And beside her, a s

  • The Embrace Of The Lycan King    Chapter 36: Blood for the Luna

The air reeked of iron and wet earth as Beta Juls and Gamma Roderick tore into the swarm of rogues, their wolves moving like shadows, all muscle and fury. Claws raked, fangs snapped, and the night pulsed with the sound of snarls and dy*ng screams. Still, the rogues kept coming, endless and wild, as if summoned by some unseen hand.Florita stood at the heart of the chaos, her barrier shimmering faintly, pulsing each time a rogue struck against it. Sweat streamed down her face, her lips whispering a chant in an ancient tongue. A faint silver light flickered at her fingertips, but it was dim—far too dim.“We don’t have long,” she gasped. “If I lose focus, they’ll break through!”Juls lunged at a rogue, his silver-gray wolf slamming into its side and crushing its ribs with a snap of jaws. Blood stained his muzzle as he lifted his head, growling. “Then hold, Florita! We’ll clear you a path.”Roderick’s massive brown wolf was already a storm of violence, tearing through three rogues at once

Livia tried to straighten her spine, her body trembling violently as though the very weight of the world was crushing her shoulders. She wanted to stand tall—if only to show them that she would not bow to lies—but her strength was abandoning her. Another cough tore through her chest, and fresh blood spilled down her lips, staining the marble floor beneath her again.Gasps echoed throughout the grand hall again, as they witnessed how Livia suffered from the punishment they cannot see. “Luna!” Madame Julie exclaimed, reaching for her, but Livia lifted a weak hand to stop her. “I… I can still—” Her words broke as another wave of agony twisted through her chest, forcing her to her knees. She clutched at her heart as though it would shatter into pieces in her palm. The five Elders leaned forward, whispering among themselves. Elder Caelum finally spoke, his voice heavy: “So be it. The trial will continue tonight. Let the lies be stripped, and the—”“No.”The single word thundered like a s

“Let me be heard.” Madame Julie’s voice rang out, steady and commanding despite her age. It carried across the chamber like a crack of thunder, silencing the last murmurs that lingered after the false witness’s words. All eyes turned toward her. Even those who moments ago had been spitting venom at Livia now froze, their faces palled at the sight of the woman standing tall with Ria and Felly beside her.Madame Julie did not look at the crowd. Instead, she lifted her chin and turned her gaze toward the throne. Her eyes met the Lycan King’s golden ones across the hall. For a long heartbeat, the chamber seemed to hold its breath. He didn’t move, didn’t speak. But the faintest incline of his head gave her permission. Only then did she shift her gaze to the Elder Council, her expression calm but unyielding.“You will grant me this chance to speak,” she said, not as a plea, but as a command rooted in her history, her strength. The Elders exchanged glances, their solemn faces betraying no e
