He merely stared at me for a second before swiping his giant claw at me. I cried out feeling the claws penetrate my arm.

I used the wind to throw him back. He got back up but before he could attack, a grey wolf jumped out from behind me. I knew immediately it was Penn. His mouth clamped down on the Aleni's arm, causing a roar to escape him. His claws slashed at Penn's side. He let out a yelp as he released the arm. The Aleni slashed him once more. 

I had to do something. As the Aleni went in for the kill, I summoned a vine to wrap around his neck, yanking him back. I urged the vines to wrap tighter and tighter until a sickening crack could be heard. The Aleni fell limpy to the ground.
