CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

The next day was Riley’s first day as Lucas’s maid and before she left Dolph’s house, she thanked the maids for their services to her. When she turned around, Dolph was standing by the wall, his arms folded while one leg crossed over the other, his face was impassive as he stared at her. She bowed to him stiffly.

“You didn’t have to say anything to them, they were acting on my orders after all.” He said.

“I just felt like I had to.” She replied, although he had acted harshly towards her the previous day, Riley thought that he wasn’t such a bad person.

“Didn’t you see the way they looked at you? Their faces read, is this bitch crazy?” He remarked. “Lucas is waiting for you, you have a very busy day ahead. Get your stuff.” He squinted at her and then saw that she was carrying nothing. “Oh, you don’t have any stuff, let’s go then.”

Lucas was in the living room, luckily Brenda wasn’t around so Riley didn’t have to meet her immediately. He was sure Dolph had already given her the warnings
