PROLOGUE

•Year 2022, month of July: Red’s POV•

A sound of clacking heels from a pair of red stilettos was filling the whole room. Behind the darkness of the shades that I am wearing, I can see how people made their sudden look on me; like a Goddess arrived. They all greeted me with a smile on their faces which I responded with a straight face.

My palm is heated up by the coffee that I am holding on my right hand while my other is holding my new released black designer bag. I sipped at the cup of coffee that I was holding as I walked, making it appear as though I was just having a breakfast. It is in the US or here in the Philippines, nothing changes, I’ve got the same routine every single day.

“Oh hi, are you the secretary here?” A man suddenly blocked my way.

One of my brows automatically rises as I stopped my feet from walking. I slightly put my shades down then I looked at him from head to toe. He was wearing a white long-sleeve which he covered with a navy blue coat, his black slacks and black shoes made his look more formal. I can also notice the blueprint rack that he’s holding behind his back.

“What can I do for you, Mister?” I asked, not giving him my full interest.

The man chuckled which made me furrow my brows. He put his hand behind his back together with the blueprint that he’s holding, “I’m here to talk with Red, and I heard he is finding an architect for his house in San Isidro.”

“He?” Hindi ko nanaman maiwasang mapataas ng isang kilay dahil sa narinig.

“Hell yeah,” the man answered.

I looked around the office. Each worker is busy doing their own designs in their own cubicles that are filled with toys and jewels designs. The room is filled of photos of models wearing jewelries that were made by the hands of my precious workers and designed by my own special hands. There are mannequin with jewelries and a gown.

I smirked in amusement. Does man actually thinks that this office is too manly? Well, iba na naman talaga ang panahon ngayon, siguro nga may lalaking ganito kung design-an ang floor.

The man looked around the whole room the way I did, “Though I guess Red’s not that rich to pay even my minimum charge, I still accepted the job since he offered it to me.”

I turned my attention back to the man. There’s a mischievous smile on my lips now. I tried to stop myself from laughing by putting my closed fist on my lips but I just can’t. I bust out laughing, I almost passed out laughing. Lakas lang talaga ng trip ng mga tao ngayon, lakas magjoke.

“Red offered you a job?” I tittered, showing that I am not actually believing him.

“Yes, he did,” the man confusedly answered, narrowing his brows. “Red is actually a friend of mine.”

I laughed even louder; tawang dahilan ng paglingon sakin ng mga trabahador ko. Iba-iba ang ekspresyon nila: some are trying to stop themselves from laughing, some are curious about what’s happening and some are scared. I even heard someone saying, “Oh he’s damn dead.”

The man’s brows narrowed even deeper, he is completely lost. Malamang ay nagtataka siya bat ako natatawa nang lubusan, baka iniisip niya pang baliw ako.

“Ah, sorry,” I sighed as I shook her head. I put my coffee on the near table so I could wipe the tears that came out from my eyes from laughing too much, “You’re not hired.”

“Excuse me?” the man exclaimed. Now he laughed with sarcasm in it, “How can a secretary decide for something like this, you don’t even look like an HR?”

“Well…”

“Miss Red, sorry I’m late!” a girl with eyeglasses came rushing, she was panting while holding a tablet in her one hand and a digital pen, “I’m so sorry Miss Red, I woke up late.”

I faced my secretary with a soft smile on my face, “It is okay, Issa, late din ako.”

“Y-you’re red?” the man suddenly spoke again.

My brows lifted when I looked at the man again. I pursed my lips with a slyly smirk, “Oh, you’re still there? I remember me saying that I am not going to hire you as the architect of my house so you may go now.” I pointed the way with my index finger.

“You can’t possibly be Red!” the man insisted, raising his voice and he even stomped his foot.

Issa stepped forward to cover me, “But she is Red, Sir, so if you may please just go.”

I can’t help but to smirk proudly. A narcissistic man can’t believe that Red is not a man. That a woman owns this place and that just earlier… he was a shameful piece of shit

“It’s okay Issa; let me introduce myself to him.” I slightly pushed her secretary aside then I extended her arm to offer her hand to the man, “Ryann Ezra Destiny Guerrero and it is not pleasure to meet you.”
