5. Guest List

"So, Lorensius has provided your guest list for the next week?" asked Anya and lit the cigarette in her mouth.

Jasmine only nodded in response to Anya's question. She then took her cell phone and showed Anya a chat containing guest data for the next week.

After Anya saw it, she took a deep breath. Jasmine's first guest was the guest she hated the most. An annoying rude guy who always says hurtful things.

"What's wrong? Why is your face so gloomy?" asked Jasmine who suddenly became nervous.

Anya shook her head weakly, she took the cigarette that was in her mouth and threw it away. Anya shifted her seat so she could sit opposite Jasmine.

"Listen, this guy called Steven, he is pretty crazy, he'll make you wear whatever he brings. His fetish is really weird, and if you don't give in, he'll throw a tantrum and maybe even beat you up."

Jasmine froze upon hearing Anya's story. Is the world of the night that scary?

"Didn't Lorensius ever say that he looks after his girls? And if this ever happened, shouldn't Steven be blacklisted from VIP guests, and even to this nightclub guests?" Jasmine asked quickly.

Anya smiled sadly.

"If Lorensius was the real owner of this nightclub, he would do that, the thing is, there's a big boss in control. The punishment for someone like Steven is just a fine to compensate us," said Anya casually.

This is bad. Jasmine shook her head in disbelief.

"Then what should I do? What if he is rude to me?" Jasmine asked frantically.

"Of course, don't make him angry. Wear what he wants you to wear, obey, and don't talk too much because Steven hates women who talk. Don't wear jewelry, don't use perfume, don't overdo the makeup, and don't wear tight clothes, he hates all of that." Anya tells Jasmine so Jasmine can get ready.

Jasmine frowned hearing so many words from Anya's words.

"But don't worry, the pay is worth it, you will get a lot of money from that man," Anya said, which immediately made Jasmine sigh heavily.

"Can I just ask another guest?" Jasmine whined.

Anya chuckled softly at Jasmine's words.

"Unfortunately, our job does not allow us to choose, Jasmine. In this world of ours, the one with the most money is the boss. Do you understand?"

Like it or not, Jasmine nodded in understanding to answer Anya's question.

***

"Hey, may I come in, Boss?" Jasmine asked after knocking on Lorensius' door.

Lorensius, who was busy with the laptop in front of him, immediately turned towards the door and smiled faintly.

"Come in, you want to ask something?" asked Lorensius as he closed the laptop in front of him.

Jasmine smiled faintly and then stepped inside, she sat down on the sofa with her feet tapping on the floor.

"I just wanted to chat with you. Tomorrow is my first official day here, so I'm a bit nervous," said Jasmine.

Lorensius took a deep breath, then walked over to Jasmine, and sat down on the sofa.

"I've asked Anya to give you some advice," Lorensius said.

"Thank you, that helped, but somehow, hearing every story that comes out of Anya's mouth, I feel more and more uneasy, I feel nervous," said Jasmine.

"What's bothering you? Are you afraid they'll hurt you?" Lorensius asked quietly.

Jasmine shook her head slowly.

"Anya has given me a lot of advice so I don't get bad treatment, it's just... maybe I'm not used to it, that's why I'm nervous like this," Jasmine spoke slowly.

Lorensius nodded in understanding, he then took out his cell phone and called someone, to ask to bring wine to his room.

"I'm sure everyone has felt the same way you did when they first came here! They can all go through it, so I'm sure you can!" cried Lorensius casually.

"Yeah, I know. I just want to let my complaints out. Oh yeah, I heard from Anya that you like to go on holiday every weekend, can I come too?" Jasmine asked idly.

Jasmine just wanted to keep talking so she could forget her fear.

"You can go anywhere you like as long as you can be back by nightfall, no need to come with me," said Lorensius.

"As you know, I don't have any friends or family to go out with, and it's very boring to be alone." Jasmine still insisted.

"You can take Anya or the others!" cried Lorensius briefly.

"They'd rather go to the salon than travel to a new place," said Jasmine quickly.

"Aren't you the same? I looked at your social media and found so many photos of you going to the salon and shopping!" retorted Lorensius.

Jasmine was silent as she pursed her lips. Yeah, that was before she knew how valuable the money she had squandered was.

"People can change, right? I didn't know how hard it was to make money back then, and now that I know, I don't want to waste my money on something I don't need," said Jasmine.

Lorensius smiled faintly. Jasmine's eyes immediately fell on an employee who entered the room holding a tray containing a bottle of wine and two of Lorensius's favorite unique glasses.

"To be honest I prefer beer," whispered Jasmine as the employee left after placing her luggage on the counter.

"Why?" asked Lorensius confused.

"Because I like watching Korean dramas. They chat casually while drinking beer," Jasmine answered casually.

"Only because of that?"

Jasmine nodded in response to Lorensius's question.

"You have to drink wine the right way to enjoy it. You know how?" asked Lorensius as he poured the Wine into the glass.

"You just have to drink it," Jasmine replied foolishly.

Lorensius chuckled softly. He then shook his head.

"Don't sip it like water, or chug it like a shot glass. For wine, you have to choose the right glass, turn the glass slowly to let out the aroma, inhale the aroma, then drink sips, don't swallow it straight away because you'll only taste it." just the alcohol if you do that, take a sip slowly, swirl it in your mouth, then you will taste the true pleasure of wine!" explained Lorensius.

Jasmine was speechless at every word that Lorensius said. Is drinking wine really that complicated? Of course, Jasmine had never drank wine and even then opened it once or twice. However, she never drank in the way Lorensius said just now.

"What if you're thirsty? You're still going to drink it like that?" Jasmine asked, which immediately made Lorensius gape.

"Jasmine, you don't drink wine because you're thirsty! For anything!" growled Lorensius.

"Relax Boss, why be upset? I'm just asking!" said Jasmine quickly.

"You're asking something annoying, you know?!" snapped Lorensius.

"Hey, it turns out that your patience is as thin as a tissue! I'm just asking what's on my mind, no need to be so serious!" protested Jasmine.

Both of them were silent for quite a long time.

"If you don't want to be scolded by Steven, you better go back to your room now!" cried Lorensius suddenly.

"Why?" Jasmine asked frantically.

"Didn't Anya tell you that Steven doesn't like the smell of alcohol?!" surrendered Lorensius.

Jasmine's eyes widened and she immediately threw a nearby sofa cushion at Lorensius.

"And you offered me wine?!" screamed Jasmine annoyed.
