(Trent and Ashley—age 7.)

“You got a boo-boo again.” Ashley said while inspecting the cut in his best friend’s face. It’s a common occurrence for the both of them come morning when they can play again in the day care center. As common as it is, it simply doesn’t make it okay—no matter how often it happens. His best friend doesn’t deserve it. “Did your ‘Da do this again?”

“You know it’s always my Dad—I’m okay Ashey. Look, I got apples from mom again!” Trent cheerfully showed his lunch bag with apples, some pop tarts and a juice box.
