Chapter 47

Jenna's POV

The pain of heartbreak like I have never felt before sliced through me. If anything, it was a hundred-fold more intense.

My husband was smelling like his ex-mistress. Her scent was lingering on him like a perfume. It can only be this strong if they hugged tighter and they rubbed themselves over each other.

"Jenna, have you gone crazy?" He clenched his fists beside him after tossing the bouquet of flowers on the floor.

I watched the roses. They were dark like blood. That color whipped into my eyes, making me see red. I kicked them away as tears trickled out of my eyes.

"Yes, I've gone crazy. When Sasha was killed and Chris's pack was removed from your alliance, I thought all my problems had ended. But my real problem is right here— in my own house. And my very husband is protecting the problem with his life."

My chest was aching. I so wanted to push him on the couch behind him and rub myself all over him. I know he might not have done anything with that bìtch on purpose. But that's the main problem. My husband is loyal, his ex-mistress isn't.

She's vowed to snatch him back from me. Given how she's manipulated my husband, I can see it happening.

But I won't let it happen. Today, I'll make him throw her out.

"I'm done tolerating her. Send her away."

"I can't do that. She's my responsibility."

"Then I'm leaving." I lifted our son and pushed him back, and got out of my study.

Jace came running behind us, "Jenna, you're not being serious, are you?"

"I'm. Either she stays here or I do."

"What's gotten into you today, Jenna? Why are you suddenly so hateful? Is this because I've been caring for Liza these days?"

I halted in my tracks to give him a glare, "Don't say days! You've been caring for her like your wife for over a month."

"And you know why. I thought she had a tumor."

"I truly wish she did!" Jace's eyes hardened.

He ground his molars and turned his gaze away. I can see he was holding himself back from saying whatever was on his mind. I didn't stop listening to him. I came to my room to pack my bags.

But then, "SURPRISE!"

The sound of bursting balloons filled the air as a lot of confetti flew around us. I blinked my teary eyes in daze because mom and dad were standing there. Forcing myself to smile, I hugged mom first.

"Mom, dad. What a pleasant surprise." I gave Jared to his grandpa. He happily kicked his legs and started chanting 'Ganna, Ganna'.

"We were unable to live without our prince." Dad said while squeezing Jared in his arms like a teddy.

"So we came." Mom held his hand.

"And we plan to stay here forever."

Although I was shaking, bliss waltzed through my soul. That was great news.

"Jenna," All of us spun towards the door. Jace skidded to a halt at the doorstep.

He was staggered to see mom and dad there. But when they said they're going to stay here with us forever now, a smile of relief lifted the corners of his lips.

That relief was because he knew I won't leave now that mom and dad are here.

"That's brilliant, guys. I can't tell you what you've done for me by coming today." He was looking at me while saying that, but I lowered my gaze.

I wasn't going to forget what happened today. Neither am I going to let this slide. This time I will only be at peace once that witch is out of my house.

Jace's POV

"Jenna, now spit your anger please. It's been a week since that evening. I miss us so much." I snuggled her from behind as she lay on the bed, patting our son to sleep.

"Jenna, baby, please. Come back to our room. I miss you a lot." As I leaned closer to kiss her neck, she scooted away.

"If you really want me in your room, do what I want. Otherwise forget it."

Heaving, I sat up on the bed. The last seven days have been ridiculously difficult for me. I have never tamped my anger down so much. Never held back my frustration and words to this extent.

Jenna was stubbornly bent on wanting Liza out of here. No matter what I did or said, she turned deaf to it. Every sentence of mine got just one response from her— Liza's exit.

"Why does she make you so afraid? And for what?" I quietly asked, this time I let my irritation bleed into my words.

Jenna stopped patting Jared. She grimly looked over her shoulder and seethed, "I am afraid she will snatch you. I can see her working on it already."

"God damn it! You're so aggravating, Jenna. When will you stop being so insecure? You've got nothing to worry about. When I said I belong to you, I only belong to you. I'm yours and no one can snatch you from me."

I went on and on, talking about loyalty, about our bond, and whatnot.

When she spoke, her words were the same, "Don't give me just words. Give me proof that you are mine. Send her away. That will prove you really mean it." She got up from the bed and prepared to leave.

Anger was building like a bubbling volcano in my chest. Before I exploded, there was a knock on the door.

"Jenna?"

"Yes, Oakley. Come in." I glanced in the direction of the door as Oakley showed himself from a creak he opened.

"You have a visitor, Jenna." He paused as his eyes landed on me. "The beta of Power Wolf Pack."

"Power wolf pack!" I snapped sharply. "That is Chris's wolf. What is he coming here for?"

Oakley averted his gaze back to Jenna before he answered, "He's got blood all over his clothes. His head is also split open at the corner. His pack has been attacked, Jenna. He said it's not the first time. Since the Alpha king abandoned them, some opportunist Alphas have been attempting to take over their pack regularly."

"This time the situation got out of their hands. He said Alpha Chris is captured. The beta barely escaped and came here to seek your help."

I rose infuriatingly. I rejected his pack and revoked all protection. Whatever happens to him and his pack was none of our business.

I opened my mouth to make that clear when, "Oh goddess! Is he severely hurt? Where is Chris? What about the pack's people? Are there any deaths? What is the casualty figure?"

I stared at her, speechless and disappointed. She's not thinking about going to help his pack, is she?

"He is shaking badly." Oakley said, avoiding me completely. We have not yet reconciled since that fight, so he only talks to me and Jenna as much as it is needed. "I made him sit in the waiting room. I think you should ask everything yourself."

"Okay, let's go."

"Jenna!" I caught her wrist. "You're not going?"

Chapter 58 Jace's POV We were silent for a long time. Neither of us spoke. Suddenly Jenna lifted her face and eyes me innocently."What?" I chuckled. She nodded in no, "You burned Liza alive."My face stilled. I pulled her closer and joined our foreheads, "I had to. She was the bane of our family."I kissed her."Also," I added. "She made me doubt my wife's intentions. I had to punish her."At that, she hugged me tighter and rested her face on my shoulder. She was sitting straddling my waist while I held her like my toddler baby.My back had healed. Hence, I was able to sit this way.The doctors had been worried because the wound wasn't healing in my state of unconsciousness. That's the reason why they refused to give any answer. But the second I woke up, the wound healed, and all the residue of wolfsbane and silver was eliminated by my immune system."What happened to Chris and that lady?" I suddenly asked as I remembered those two."Both dead. And that lady was Doctor Henry's daug

Chapter 57Jenna's POV 'Thanks, bro. Head towards the Rogues' territory with your team. I'll meet you there.''Roger that!''Okay.'We broke the link. I sucked a sharp breath as I focused on the road ahead. If I drive at high speed, I'll get there in twenty minutes.Jenna, hold on for a while, love. Your husband is coming to get you.(Twenty minutes later)"Jace, finally you're here." Oakley came running towards my car as I applied brakes."Did you find her location?" I was not even fully out of the car."Yes, and already stationed our soldiers around the area." Oakley said, sending a wave of relief through me."Thank, goddess.""Don't worry, Jace. The situation is already in our control." Oakley flashed a shark grin and my eyebrows cocked in confusion. "Chris's soldiers look novice. They are not attentive at all, let alone alert.""I think he brought untrained wolves here. And I must add that his Beta and Gamma are not here either."I acknowledged with a nod, "He's probably doing it

Chapter 56Jenna's POV Jace has never touched her before. He hadn't done it this time either. It's that bìtch who always found ways to go near him.'There's no point in giving yourself false hope, Jenna. Jace isn't the man we thought he was. Accept it.' Gianna said.A feeling of disappointment rose over me. No! My wolf is not right here. She's hurt from Jace's wolf's words, and rest is the impact of wolfsbane.Jace loves us.'You really think that? Then tell me, why didn't he come after us when we left?'he He might have a reason.'No,' Gianna grunted weakly. 'It's because he was bewitched by his mistress's beauty and he chose her instead.'That's not true. I was breathless in anger. Gianna's words struck a chord that it shouldn't have.'I'll prove it to you that Jace still only loves us.'Having that said, I lowered my guard. I had blocked out everyone and their feelings to avoid getting caught. However, as I lowered my guard, I could feel my family's emotions— Jace's first. He was

Chapter 55Jenna's POVI regained my senses at the feeling of stabbing spasms stretching throughout my body. My eyelids were heavy and so I couldn't drag them open. But my other senses were working well.I could hear and smell and feel my surroundings. The air was crackling with the chirping of thousands of crickets, meaning that I was most likely in a forest area; or where there were a lot of trees.I dragged in a deep breath to catch scents, and realized that wood was burning somewhere. Then I heard the noise of fire crackling. A bonfire. I subtly rubbed my hand on the ground and sensed the coarse texture. Soil. All the elements directed to one point, I was in a forest. My eyes felt better now. I was about to open them when, "Hadn't she woken up yet?" A familiar voice asked."No, Alpha Chris. After she turned into her human form while fainting, she's been just like that." Someone said,It wasn't Cleo's voice. Hmm. Perhaps Chris flew all the way to Silent Hills city with a small team

Chapter 54Jace's POV "Let this be a lesson to all those who think they can fool the Alpha King just because I trust them." I announced as I paced around with a flaming torch in my hand. Behind me a pyre was built in the middle of the city for people to watch. On it Liza was tied to a pole. She was drenched with petrol and shaking. Her eyes were red. She begged me to let her go, that she was honestly apologetic. That she acknowledged her blunder and would go away. "My trust has never been a weakness. My willingness to believe in those who stand beside me does not make me blind, nor does my kindness make me a fool. I give people my trust because I choose to see the good in them. Because I consider them my previous ones. But the moment that trust is betrayed, do not mistake my silence for ignorance. And don't ever think that you can outsmart me."I came to a halt. The flames were crackling beside my face. It was night now, the sky was dark with no stars. There were light poles around
