ADDIE POVOver the top of my head soared two wolves who landed lightly on their feet, putting themselves between me and my attackers. One of the wolves was jet black with a grey chest. The other wolf was a beautiful bronze metal color. He shimmered in the sun like his hair was molten under the surface. The bronze wolf killed his prey quickly while the other wolf managed to catch his wolf, holding him prisoner. Soon the entire beach was covered with warriors from the Firehole River Pack. The rogue wolf was given to several of those wolves and they left with the prisoner in tow.“Toby.” Emily’s voice was anguished. The black and gray wolf shifted back and for the first time I met Toby, naked and in all his glory. He rushed over to Emily.“The baby is coming. Right now.”Oh, oh, oh shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. This was NOT good.I shifted back and grabbed my flannel shirt, buttoning it up. It barely covered my ass cheeks. I saw that James had shifted back also and was glaring

ADDIE’S POV“Are you sure you’re ready, Little Pup?” James growled at me. I could see his eyes flashing between green and black and I could tell Scout was just below the surface. I nodded, not taking my eyes off from him.“I need to hear you say it.” He growled deeper at me. I gasped out “Yes!”"Yes, what?" He was insistent. He wanted it to be my choice."Yes, I'm ready!" I could barely get the words out, I was so arroused. He lifted me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist, feeling his arrousal against me. He ran his fingers through my hair and kissed me, gently at first, then more forcefully. His tongue played with my lips and I opened up my mouth and gave him access. He kissed me deeply, then pulled back, kissing the side of my face, my jaw and then my neck, going lower to the place he would one day mark me. My body tingled and I wanted him to mark me in that moment. The water was spraying his back, droplets coming over his shoulders and leaving rivers that ran down h

ADDIE’S POVI was hoping for a repeat of the shower scene but James was treating me like I was made of glass and breakable and that was pissing me off. I was perfectly aware that my way of dealing with things wasn’t healthy but it worked for me and has kept me alive for almost twenty one years. I wanted the distraction of James and a potential orgasm would go a long way in helping my mental health.I woke up the next morning and James was gone. Chicken shit. I got up and changed into workout gear and headed downstairs, grabbing a muffin from the dining room and heading to the training field.I showed up and stood on the sidelines, watching the men and women doing drills. They did them in their human form and it looked a lot like what you’d see on the football field. Bruce and another man was leading the drills. When Bruce saw me, he excused himself and sauntered over to me.“Liking what you see, Luna?” He smirked at me, eyes flickering to my unmarked neck. Hmmm. He better no

ADDIE’S POVThe week passed quickly. We were in full preparation for the Solidarity Event that James was hosting. We had talked about it and I knew that Alpha Cole was one of the people who was invited. I knew that James was hosting this event as a sort of a front; he was suspicious that some of the Alphas were thinking of breaking away from the current Council that they were involved in and starting their own Council. Doing so would break peace treaties that were already in effect and, in some cases, rip Packs apart as several were joined when mates were found. James suspected that the three biggest packs in the area were planning on joining and then overthrowing the Alphas of the smaller packs. Inviting them here, along with the other Alphas, would allow James to scope out their true intent and possibly garner support from Council members if he could figure out a way to get them to admit it. I offered to help but James was against it unless we couldn’t figure out another way

ADDIE’S POVI left my office angry, but the moment I shut the door behind me I realized I wasn’t that mad. I was mostly embarrassed that James had seen the horrible things that had happened. I wish he had just confessed instead of letting me think that I still had that part of my dignity left. I walked down the stars and checked on Lissa and Evelyn, both doing an excellent job. I told them to mind link the Alpha and let him know he needed to come down and greet his guests as I had an errand I wanted to run. I would have done it myself, but I didn’t want to talk to him just yet. I was halfway down the stairs of the back patio when I could feel James trying to mind link me, but I pushed him out, shutting down the link. I wasn’t in the mood.I headed to the tree line in the back of the estate. There were some trails back there that I liked to follow and a hike through the woods sounded really nice right now, despite my business dress. I took off my heels and held them, walking b
