Rainn Adalyn and I had the most amazing bonding ever and she finally marked me. I couldn't believe how good it felt, but then it all went to shit. That was three weeks ago. She's been in what the doctors have called a self-induced coma ever since. They have been able to do nothing to get her to wake up. I broke down and called Ard'al hoping that maybe he would know something. He came as soon as he could. He didn't tell the council where he was going because I wasn't ready for them to find out about Adalyn yet. He's been here for a week and a half in the library trying to research anything that could help us. I've been an absolute mess, not eating, not sleeping and barely showering. I haven't left her side for longer than necessary. I crawled into bed next to her as gently as I could, hoping that it would help, and thought back to all the events prior to her coma. Watching her take on Malik was amazing, even if I wanted to rip his throat out for what he said to her. She was

Adalyn When I woke up, I swung my hand over to Rainns side. He was not there, and the bed was only slightly warm. I figured he was downstairs making breakfast for us, so I headed into the bathroom, did my business and got dressed for the day. I headed for the stairs when I heard a female's laugh echo through the downstairs, and I froze. I snuck down the stairs and rounded the corner, staying out of sight and hoping that Liam had brought someone over. Once I got closer and started hearing the conversation my heart squeezed painfully. "Why won't you let me go upstairs Rainn?", the woman said teasingly. He smirked and looked down at the woman, "I didn't say you couldn't go upstairs, I said that you needed to away from my wing." I stood there dumbfounded and almost in tears that he was allowing this woman to get this close to him. She laughed and put her hand on his shoulder, and at that moment, I lost all control. My body was glowing purple and Rainn's eyes lit up when he fina

Adalyn Everyone was shocked at Liam's outburst. Mercer stepped forward. He was 6'3 all muscle with pale skin, black hair, and hazel eyes with just a tinge of red. "I'll go after him and bring him back so we can figure out what is going on." I just kept calling her repeatedly until Rainn came over and took the phone out of my hands. "Addie, we are going to find her", he tried to reassure me. "I have to call her brother and tell him." "Not yet my love let's make sure she's missing first and then we can call him." I agreed but I couldn't stop shaking, I knew something bad had happened and I knew the horrors that Typhon had inflicted on her. "What if he has her again?" "Baby I promise if he does, we will find her and bring her back." "Elodie when Mercer gets back with Liam, I need you two to go to Tabby's apartment and do some recon. I'm sure that Addie will give you, her address." Elodie moved so fast and was right next to me, I jumped. She inclined her head and I just had to

Adalyn I was so confused about what was going on, "Wait who's coming?" Rainn had a deadly look on his face, "Beherit and his demons and they aren't coming for tea." I straightened my back, I was scared to death, but I wouldn't let it show, not in front of everyone. Rainn started barking orders at everyone to make sure all the defenses were up and running and for everyone to meet in the War Room in forty-five minutes. He then grabbed my hand and took me back into the house, up the stairs, and into our room. "This may not be ideal timing, but I need you right now", he said. He started stripping my workout clothes off and tracing his fingers down my arms and onto my stomach. "Shouldn't we be helping them?" "I have other plans for you right now and it's going to be a long night." I smiled, I love this man and even though we have an unknown number of enemies coming to destroy us, all he wants to do is worship me. I reached up and cupped his cheek and pulled him in for a kiss.

Liam I can't believe I had her right in front of me and let her go. I've been beating myself up for weeks and I've never felt so out of control. Every night, I've been sneaking out of the house and heading back to the bar hoping to find the guy that she was with, but he has not been back. I can't get out of my head what might be happening to her right now. She was made for me to love and protect, and I dropped the ball big time. I headed downstairs and everyone was in the kitchen laughing and eating breakfast, but when I walked in the conversation stopped. "Don't stop having fun on my account", I said. "Liam, it’s not like that, we understand what you’re going through", Ezra said. I laughed sarcastically, "Do you? Do you really understand what I'm going through? My destined mate is somewhere with some demon doing God knows what horrendous things to her that she may never recover from, and I may never get a chance to be with her. Your mates are right there next to you, safe
