I picked up the call, curios to know his reasons for calling. But the mocking laughter that followed left me stunned.“I knew it!” He growled, his laughter slowly fading away.“You knew what?” I frowned, wondering what he meant.“I knew you would look for her. How foolish of you to think I would let anyone—let alone you—get access to her like that,” Derry mumbled. I nodded, a smirk escaping my lips.“So it was you,” I said.“Of course it was me. I provided the wrong address because I knew you wouldn’t leave Shimma alone. I’m sure you had important matters to attend to before you got that text about her whereabouts. But sadly, it must hurt to know you wasted your precious time only to knock on some nigga's door,” he laughed again.I clenched my jaw, tightening my fist as anger boiled within me. “Derry, why are you doing this? You’re better than this,” I said, struggling to keep my voice steady.“No! I’m not! I won't stop until you leave Shimma alone.”“Never,” I replied fiercely, makin

MR. MATTIAS'S POV. A few hours later, My driver pulled up in front of my gate while waiting for my gate guards to open the gate. Once my gate guards had opened the gate, my driver drove into my compound. I got down from the car, tired and frustrated as i headed inside. I had to find a way to get to her. Because, the more days went by, the more crazier it made me feel. I walked up the stairs, straight to my room. Once inside, i threw my suitcase on the bed, then I began to take off my clothes because i was suffocating in them, and also, i needed a cool bath. I walked straight into the bathroom, turning on the shower as i let the cold water run down my head to toe. “Urghhhhh!“ I groaned, shutting my eyes close as i felt a wave of relaxation. While I closed my eyes, I could only imagine what would have happened if Shimma had been the one who opened that door. I would have hugged her so tight, i wouldn't even give her a breathing space. Damn! I miss her so much. The

TWO MONTHS LATERI found myself seated in an office—my office. Slouched back, gaze fixed on the ceiling, my mind swirled with thoughts. He didn't come for me. He never cared. Two months have passed, and I haven't set eyes on him.His photo on my phone was supposed to help me remember him and the good times, but now it feels like…... I don’t want to remember him; everything we had was just a mirage, False! He's a liar!Fuck! my parents were right, even if I never wanted them to be.“Shimma,” my boss, Mr. Kelvin, called, breaking me from my thoughts. I didn't even notice him enter my office.“I need you to look over these documents. Go through them carefully and ensure there are no mix-ups,” he said, dropping the files on my desk.“O—Okay, sir,” I replied, sitting up straight. He turned back as if something compelled him, and my heart sank under his glare. What does he want now?“Next time I find you in that position, I promise I’ll get you fired,” he warned, muttering as he left. “Ther

I turned back to take a last glance, because no matter how hard i tried, there was no way i could withhold my gaze. The moment i turned back, they both disappeared into the VVIP section. I felt strangely sad because i couldn't get a glimpse of their face.“Is everything alright?“ Me Kelvin asked, bringing my attention back to the table.“Y—yes Sir, everything is fine,” I said, forcing out a smile.“Why don't we order a drink?“ He asked.“What kind of drink Sir?“ I mumbled, but he didn't respond, instead, he signalled a waiter. When the waiter arrived. He whispered something i couldn't quite hear, the waiter nodded before walking out.MR MATTIAS'S POV.We were directed to the VVIP section, where i and Dannis both took our seats.A waiter came to give us a menu, waiting to get our orders. While Dannis carefully went through his menu.I stared at mine, lost in thoughts. Why do i feel Shimma's presence here. It's weird, i know, but i feel it. I feel her. Like she's close to me. I can't w

SHIMMA'S POV. The cab pulled up in front of my house. I quickly paid the driver before stepping out of the car. I glanced back to see if Mr. Mattias had followed me, but the road was clear. There was no sign of any car approaching. I entered my house, closing the door behind me. I slowly walked to the living room, trying to replay the scene in my mind, but it still made no sense. “I need to cool off. I really need a bath,” I whispered, my breath hitching in my throat as I made my way upstairs. I stripped off all my clothes and headed straight to the bathroom. I turned on the shower, letting the water run over me from head to toe. “Ughhh,” I groaned, feeling a wave of relief wash over me. But I soon got distracted by the sound of my doorbell. I paused, waiting to hear it again. “Ding! Ding!” It rang for a second time. I had just moved in here a month ago, and I barely had visitors. Could it be? No way!…. I quickly grabbed a white towel, rushing down the stairs. “Knoc
