Kieran's POV “Alpha Daniel, thank you.” I said, standing up immediately. “Are you sure you wouldn't stay the night here?” he asked.I scoffed, “Stay the night? I have to be at the Starweaver pack by morning.” “That pack is thirty-six hours away from here,” he pointed out. “My drivers would make it in less time,” I said, looking at Jephta. I urged Alpha Daniel to sit back and enjoy his rest. “Make sure you come back with her safely,” he said.“Oh, on my life I will.” I growled. “What did you see?” I asked as we walked out. “The cameras on the pack showed Caleb walking past, and then by his side was Rai, and she looked hurt.”He showed me the footage, and he was really right. They were on the Star weaver pack. Nicholas took the keys from my hand to avoid me driving. “I'll drive as fast, Alpha,” Nicholas said, looking at me eyeball to eyeball. “I want to save her more desperately than you think.” The pack piled into our cars, revving the engines as we hit the road. Just like al

Kieran's POV “One of us will die.” Caleb chuckled.“Oh let me guess, it's not you?” I scoffed.“Definitely not.”“I've imagined several ways that I'm going to kill you, and I don't even know which one to go with yet.” I muttered, and he smirked. “I doubt that'd happen,” he said.“I'll make sure it's slow and painful, and then I'll destroy everything that matters to you.” I growled. “It ends here for you, Caleb.”“Let's find out then?” Caleb smirked, and showed off his claws, then he moved. Faster than I expected, his fist came flying at my face. I barely dodged, shifting my weight to the side. His knuckles grazed my jaw, but I didn’t give him the satisfaction of a reaction. Instead, I countered, delivering a brutal punch to his ribs. He grunted but didn’t stumble. Instead, he twisted and slammed his knee into my stomach. I felt a huge amount of pain, but I didn’t back down. We exchanged blows, with neither of us holding back. Each hit was heavier than the last. Caleb swung a

Nyx's POV “Whatever is going through your head right now, let it go.” I growled, acting like I could take him on, when, in reality, I'm cooked if Kieran doesn't show up as soon as possible. “I will kill you, and I will make you feel every ounce of pain I feel right now.” Harrison said as his eyes reddened. “I will be the one to make you feel pain,” I growled. “I will hurt you so badly, even in eternity, you will see my face and remember my name!” “I will make you cry.” I growled, heaving deep sighs as I tutted with anger.“You bitch.” Harrison cried, looking at Cara's dead body. “You have already caused me enough pain.”“Well then, no need to get emotional. Just leave, and move on with your life,” I said, hoping he'd not want to fight me, though I knew I was being delusional. “Well then, don't say I didn't warn you.” I growled, looking over at him. Harrison stood before me, his chest rising and falling in ragged breaths, his face twisted in agony and fury. His hands trembled at

Kieran's POV I was stressed speaking to several packs without Alphas. Most of them were having disputes with their betas becoming Alphas because as soon as any assumed the role of the Alpha, death would immediately follow. “What is the total number of packs present here?” I asked, as Nicholas was done stationing each pack in several places to avoid fights, and to make it easier to properly place everyone.“Currently, fifteen packs,” Nicholas said. I stopped waking immediately, and I turned to look at him.“What do you mean by currently?” I asked.“According to Jubril and Trent, more and more packs have been arriving by the day, and they are endlessly coming.” He said, and I sighed deeply.“Now, what the fuck is going on?” I sighed, taking deep breaths.“The sea goddesses are striking hard and fast,” Nicholas responded.“No one wants to assume the role of Alpha because of the fear of death. It's either the Luna or the beta that has died in each of these packs.” I shook my head, looki

Kieran's POV The smell of blueberries and warm batter filled the kitchen as I flipped another pancake onto the plate. The morning was quiet, except for the soft hum of the tune I was mindlessly singing. Nyx was still asleep, and I wanted to surprise her with breakfast. The war had already begun, whether we liked it or not. And honestly, all I planned to do was enjoy every moment I had with her while I still could. Memories of last night flashed through my mind, her body tangled with mine, the way she whispered my name, the way she looked at me like I was her whole world. Well, I am.I smiled to myself, shaking my head as I poured more butter into the pan. I loved every version of Nyx, the fierce warrior, the kind Luna, the stubborn troublemaker when we're alone. The seductive mistress. If she ever turned evil (which I knew would never happen), I’d still be hopelessly in love with her. I’d follow her into darkness without a second thought. The pancake sizzled as I tilted the pan s
