Killian POV Pulling away from her was the hardest thing for me to do. I badly wanted to get even more closer to her, hold her closer to me, sink my fangs into her neck then make the sweetest love ever to her.But I couldn’t, I just couldn’t bring myself to do anything to her. Being in her presence alone was really overwhelming, kissing her or even doing anything intimate with her was more intense.I was going crazy, my head felt like a very distorted place, I just wanted to hold her to myself and never let go again. She had taken over my head and every other part of my body completely. And the worst part? She didn’t even have to do anything. She snuck into my life and became the main character in it. Her scent alone made me feel like going Gaga or something. I badly want to mark her, make her scent get mixed with mine and just seal it together forever. But no, I just had to exercise patience and work on my self control. I knew that I couldn’t just rush to do anything at the moment,

Esmeralda POV It had been two days since I had that dream, and it has been very hard since that day. It was a vision that I hadn’t been able to decode at all. I’ve had a very hard time thinking about what that dream meant.I knew it had to do with my child and Killian, but it seemed Aurora was more powerful that I thought she was. Another thing I depicted was that Killian was going to either lose his life or be in trouble over this.“You’re zoning out again.” His voice dragged me back to reality. Killian sat before me, his brows creased as a frown settled on his face. I was in his office, having arrived here minutes ago.“Uh, sorry. I didn’t realize.” I mumbled, adjusting my butt on the chair.“What’s the issue? You wanted to see me. Are you finally ready to talk to me?” He asked me.Since I had that vision two days ago, I’ve pretty much avoided talking to him or even being around him at all. It wasn’t even like he offended me or anything, but I felt like my presence in his life was

Esmeralda POV “The baby is in a very good condition. They’re growing very well too.”I had told the doctor that I didn’t want to know the baby’s gender yet. It’s not even like they can know what gender it is yet. But I still didn’t want to know it.“It’s a very rapid growth to be precise, the baby seems to be full of energy on its own.” He added.“That’s good to know, I guess. Is there anything else I’m meant to know?” I asked him.My wolf was already doing the daily check on the baby, but I still didn’t want to take any chances, so I decided to check on all sides.“Nothing much. It’s just that it seems you’ve been putting your body through a bit of stress these days. You need to cut down on anything that’s stressful to you. And eat more, sleep more too, you need a lot of that.”“I already told the alpha all of these when he asked me earlier though. Just rest well and everything else will be fine.”At least I now know why Killian was trying to get me to eat more since we woke up. And

Esmeralda POV My heart dropped, the knife in my hand fell to the ground, making a clattering sound. Killian was so angry that it was really evident on his face, the firmness of his face was more than enough for me to know that he needed just one word from me.“I can explain.” I mumbled, voice shaky.“It’s a simple question. Is it true or not?” He asked once more, maintaining his stance by the door.I know how much he hates repeating himself, and with the way the bond shook, I knew he was holding on by a thread. He was only trying to give me a benefit of doubt.“Yes.” I found myself saying.“Why?” Behind that one word were a lot of follow up questions. Why did I do it? Why didn’t I tell him anything all these while? Why did I lie?“I can explain, I swear.” I mumbled, walking over to him. The cold look in his eyes made me want to step back, but I just stood on the spot, not too close to him but enough to look into his eyes.He didn’t say anything, his silence was however intense than a

Killian POV After running round the woods for hours, I returned home to see Esmeralda passed out on the floor of the kitchen. Worry filled me instantly as I saw her. It was so obvious from her face that she cried herself to sleep.I was subtly checking in on her through the bond and I knew she was asleep with the kind of stillness I felt from her end. I carried her into the room and laid her to sleep properly. I couldn’t even bring myself to get angry at her for too long. I regretted leaving her, I felt deeply betrayed by what she did. But I felt crazy when I ran out of the house, getting further away from the house she was in.I wanted to stay behind and talk things out, but staying there with her would just make me more angry.I stared at her face till I fell asleep myself, only to wake up when I felt a strain from the bond and Esmeralda jolting awake out of fright.“What’s wrong?” I asked her, confusion etched into my face. She kept breathing unsteadily, her eyes looking all roun
