Derrick's POV “What's wrong?” I asked Eliana as her eyes darted around the restaurant. My gaze followed hers and I noticed that it stopped at a table a few meters away from ours. “Nothing,” she answered quickly, turning back to me with a smile. Eliana's POV The muffled sound of loud music was the first thing I heard as I stepped out of the elevator that night. It was just past eight but I was eager to get into bed and call it a night. After my brief encounter with Professor Matthews that afternoon, Annabelle and a small group of her friends had invited me to go to a park with them. They were having a group hangout and Annabelle had somehow managed to convince them to allow me to come along, even though I didn't know any of them. I had more fun than I expected and I was so tired by the time I got home that the mere thought of having to go to school the next day already seemed like a Herculean task. Derrick's POV “What do you want?” I asked Oliver, surprised and irritated by his presence at the same time. “To put it simply, I want you to suffer,” he answered.We were in my office and he was standing with his back to the door. I'd been rounding up on the assignments I was marking when I’d heard a knock. The door had opened immediately after and I saw him standing there, a mischievous smile on his face. Earlier that morning, I'd gotten weird stares from the students I met on the way to my office. At first, I thought something was wrong with me and I had to check myself repeatedly. Then it occurred to me that students were the only ones staring and I became even more confused. On getting to my office, the list of tasks waiting to be attended to occupied my mind and I forgot about the stares. Now, Oliver was in front of me and everything came back to mind. It couldn't be a coincidence that I'd been getting uneasy stares on my way and he’d suddenly shown up in my office afterwards.
