The silence in the room was deafening, nothing but the gentle breathing of Tori and Duncan. He slowly began to stir on his bed, his eyes gently opening up as the bright orange lights made it difficult for him to fully open them.He finally opened them up as his eyes tried to adjust to the light. He tried to push himself up, but a sharp pain immediately shot through his arm as he helped himself up.“Urgh….” He grabbed on to his arm but came to a stop when he noticed someone sleeping beside him.“Tori?” He whispered, a confused look on his face. She was seated on the floor with her head rested on the bed—what was she doing here?He tilted his head, his eyes observing her rested features, his ears capturing her slow breathing. He could see tear marks on her face….Was that for her Dad, or was that for him?Series of questions began to flood his mind as he stared at this stubborn woman who still made her way into his room eventually. Her hair was in a messy bun—infact, she was a mess.He

Three nights. It's been three days now and every night, I heard that groaning sound from Duncan's room. They were light groaning the first time, but it sounded worse the second and even more last night—it was like the pain got worse with every passing night….but the question was; which pain? The worse part was every morning that followed that night, he had one less bandage and one less cut—it was either that or I kept seeing injuries that weren't there. The first day was his head bandage and that cut I was so sure I saw, the second day was the bandage on his knee and the third was the second cut on his face.I would have loved to believe I never saw those bandages and injuries, but I did and now, those places magically didn't need care anymore?Along side all of these, I couldn't get over the fact that Duncan's room was exactly the same way it was in my dreams. I thought I had gotten over the fear of those dreams until I found myself in the same place they happened.I wanted to ask hi

I was meant to be scared, extremely scared—but, I wasn't.His gaze fell on my hand in his and he slowly let go. I could feel the heat his body emanated, like he had lava on his inside.I felt scared seeing those eyes in my dream, but I was awed seeing them right in front of me, seeing him in what looked like his full form.“Is this why you never wanted to get married?” I asked and he gave a slight nod.“It's…. it's not something any normal woman would accept now is it?”His voice was so….I couldn't even explain it. It echoed gently round the room, leaving goosebumps on my body.I stared at his teeth while he spoke, they had formed pointed tips.“Not exactly” I whispered, my eyes still fixed on him.He lifted his gaze to me, confusion clear on his face “you're not scared” he stated “why aren't you?”I gave a slight shrug “I don't even know. I'm still trying to understand it” I confessed “you can sense when I'm afraid?”“I can sense all you emotions” he confessed “I know when you're exc

“So you're happy for completely no reason?” Michael questioned, a confused look on his face as he stared at a seemingly bright looking Duncan.“Is it wrong to be in a good mood?”“Well, it's not, but not when you don't get to work. You love work more than anything else” Michael pointed out.He wasn't wrong, working was his life—but then, there was the occurrence from last night; how could he not be happy? He would have never imagined Tori taking everything as easily as she did—especially when she almost had heart attacks in both ‘dreams’.Every form of emotion he tried to hide and bury for this little baker ended up blooming even more after her reaction towards everything.Just when he had expected her to hate it, to hate him. When he had expected her to scream or something, anything to finally get rid of his crazy unexplainable feelings towards her—she didn't and only made everything worse for him….Funny enough, he wasn't even upset about it.The weirdest situation for him was when

I was tongue tied. I stared at Duncan like he was speaking gibberish I couldn't understand.“I don't….” I stuttered “what do you mean?”He leaned back, his head resting on his bed frame before turning again to meet my face.“I was only kidding, Tori” he let out a small laugh. He was what?“You're a horrible person” I stated, staring him dead in the eyes with a frown on my face.“Most of the time, Yes” he turned to his food on the nightstand “can I?”Was he being serious?“You look cute when you're upset” he teased, picking up his food.“I'm starting to like that demon side better” I muttered and he almost choked on his food, holding back his laughter.“I'd advise you be careful with that side of me”I tilted my head, curiosity kicking in “Why's that? Gonna hurt me?”He frowned, placing his spoon down “what? My temper isn't as stupid as that. I wouldn't do such a thing”“Awwn, you're getting sweet” I poked his cheeks. He attempted to hide his smile with an eye roll, but I could tell a
