Cassandra's POV I felt awkward as I stood beside Dante while Mira was getting the tickets, but his gaze stayed glued to me, and I knew I needed to address the man if I didn’t want us getting caught by Mira. She was overly sensitive that day, and any slip-up from us wouldn’t go unnoticed.“Did you not say you didn’t have time this evening? Why are you here?” I asked.“I said so, but my niece called, so I had to hurry over,” he replied, though his words sounded a bit off.He could hurry over because of his niece, but he never showed half that urgency for me. Before I could complain, Mira returned and handed us the movie tickets.“This is what we’re watching?” I asked, surprised. We were supposed to see a romcom that just got released, but Mira had bought tickets to an erotic movie instead. A bad feeling washed over me.“Yes, let’s go.” We entered the theatre, and I tried my best to keep my distance from him, but heaven didn’t allow that.“Why don’t I sit there?” I asked Mira, hoping to

Dante's POV“Leave without me,” I said, leaving Cassandra in the cinema hallway as I chased after the man who had been following me around.I had noticed he had been tailing me ever since I dropped Cassandra off that morning, but I didn’t act rash, thinking it might be one of the gang members I had bad blood with. It wasn’t easy to not have enemies in this line of work.I was planning to have my men tail him before I left work, but Mira inviting me to the cinema ruined that plan. I couldn’t reject the invitation after I heard Cassandra was there. I had missed her, and I wanted to see her again that night. I accepted Mira’s invite to the cinema, and I also knew it was the best place to latch onto the stalker because he would have been too relaxed, thinking he had people as his cover.“Let’s see where you’ll run to now,” I rumbled as I ran after him, but his steps faltered when he hit a dead end and couldn’t go any further.“Seems you have no place to run now. Why don’t you show yoursel

Cassandra’s POV“Taxi!” I waved as I stood on the street, relieved when one actually slowed for me. I rushed toward it, but before I could get in, I was shoved hard from behind.“Ahh!” I screamed as I hit the ground. Pain stung through my palm, and when I lifted my hand, I saw the skin scraped and reddened from the fall. That asshole.“What are you..” I started, but the stranger tossed a card at me before slipping into the cab. “You can call for your medical fee,” he said, and the taxi sped off before I could even curse properly.“That crazy jerk!” I hissed, but I didn’t have time to sulk. I flagged another cab and slipped inside, tucking the jerk’s card into my bag. “Greenwood Stadium,” I told the driver, and we sped off.It was the weekend, and I’d decided to honor Jayden’s invite to the game only to be manhandled by a rude stranger on the way there. I arrived at the stadium shortly past noon, minutes before the race began. The happy faces around me only emphasized how listless I fe

Cassandra’s POV“Oh my goodness, I’m late!” I rambled as I rushed into DM Construction’s headquarters, spotting Kendrick already waiting at the lobby.Today was the day I was pitching the design for DM Construction’s new project to the board of directors. I was so nervous last night that I slept late… only to oversleep again.“You’re late,” Kendrick pointed out as we stepped into the elevator.“Sorry… I was too nervous yesterday. I slept late, then slept in,” I mumbled, and he simply nodded as if he understood too well.“I just hope things work out and they like it. Your designs,” he said, and I sighed heavily. I hoped so too. This wasn’t my first time leading a big presentation, but this was the only one where people might whisper that I got the contract because of Dante Blackwell, especially if our relationship ever became public. And speaking of our relationship… it had been progressive. Progressive, wild, reckless, and full of hot, dangerous sex in places we should never be caught

Dante’s POV I never believed I would meet Margaret in such a situation, but seeing her barge into the conference room while a meeting was going on was beyond my imagination. But we were talking about Margaret Lancaster, of course she would make an entrance unforgettable.Just like how she came into my life then. She was supposed to be just an intern, who should have ended up as one of the many interns I fired because they weren’t good, but Margaret was different. She changed everything, and instead of ending up as one of the interns I fired, she became the only one who made it as a full-time employee, and she also ended up in my bed.“Margaret!” I breathed as I pushed her into my office, slamming the door behind me, and I watched as she looked around.“Long time no see, Dante Blackwell,” she mumbled as she turned to look at me, but I got lost staring into her amber eyes. She had grown even more beautiful than the last time I saw her, and it was like she had stopped aging while I was
