Desiree’s POV My head feels like it has been split open with an axe. It is throbbing so hard that makes even the faintest whisper feel like thunder in my ears. I groan before I even open my eyes, dragging the duvet higher over my face as if darkness can somehow muffle the ache. I didn't want to wake up. I want to be on that bed, sleeping till the ache dull off but as I adjust myself to the side of the bed, I hear voices. But it is beyond my bedroom door. I blink against the morning light flickering through the curtain. I am in my room. How did I get here? How am I home?Then the realization hits harder on me than the headache.
