บททั้งหมดของ Mated to the Enemy: Imprisoned by Mate Bond: บทที่ 41 - บทที่ 50

Desiree POV It's strange how something as simple as drawing can quiet the storm inside my chest. Okay, maybe it's not simple as I term it as but this is actually the first time in how many years? That I will resume back to drawing. As a child, I have always lived in art. It got to a point that my mom even sells the painting outside the northern part to some people. I am in the courtyard in the afternoon, beside a submit corner near the open terrace, making myself available to paint again after a long period of time. “Lay the canvas flat,” I tell the maids gently. “And bring the thicker charcoal sticks. The ones from the lower cabinet.”They nod and hurry off.I rarely give instructions. I am usually the one being instructed or rather, I get to pick things myself. Today, I chose otherwise. There is a low wooden easel standing before me, angled towards the sunlight and a small box that holds charcoal in varying thickness, graphite rods, and a little dish of water for softening edge

Desiree POV “My friend?” Gillian teases as soon as they leave. “Even after the humiliation you caused me after the last time. She still calls you her friend? Women are something sometimes.”If this remark is to make me smile, Gillian Blackthorn, then you have failed woefully because I am not moved. He sees that it doesn't work so he stands in front of my easel with his hands clasped behind his back, studying the wild as though it might answer questions neither of us are willing to voice out.“Look at me, laughing cluelessly when I do not even know if my mate draws so well like this.” He says, his eyes not leaving the parchment and I hum a “Yes. I have always known how to draw.”“So you decided to take it away from me. And then make Rhydian praise my wife's drawing before I do? That's unfair.”Wife? The sound of it is really really foreign to my ears. Wife? Wife my foot!He glances at me when I don't answer him.“You’ve never shown it.“I’ve never been asked.”He steps closer to the e

Gillian’s POV Kael comes in as soon as I wake up from my sleep. It is morning already and the only thing I can do is think about Desiree. I cannot sleep. I couldn't sleep at all. That's the sickening truth. The reason I avoided her yesterday is because I do not know what to do. I try asking myself if I can leave without her if anything happens. She's the only thing I have that's threading to my heart. My wolf stirs inside me as though it doesn't want me to think about the new happenings at this point. But can I really act as though I do not know what is going on in the pack. There are three knocks on the door and the voice comes in, my beta voice. “Alpha.”He calls carefulI am already awake, sitting on the edge of my bed, my forearms braced on my knees. I did not sleep much. “Come in,” I say.Kael steps inside, closing the door behind him. He bows. “They’re waiting,” he says quietly.I rise slowly, rolling my shoulders back, forcing calm into my posture. An Alpha must never lo

Gillian's POV I stand alone in my study room, still restless after my last conversation with Kael. It was a friendly yet endangering one with the council words ringing in my end. I am drinking whiskey, trying to pass away the thoughts of words about Desiree. For once, I want peace in the midst and not chaos all around but it seems I would never. Maybe I will. I’ve replayed every possible outcome since leaving that chamber. Can I just leave everything and forgo being the Alpha? My mother would definitely be rolling in her grave by now. But I cannot also afford to lose my mate again! I cherish this one. My heart wants this one. I cannot be stubborn again! A soft knock interrupts my thoughts and I do not turn immediately. I don't even have the strength to hold a conversation anymore about packs and alliances. A man is allowed to be calm in a storm, isn't it? I can't be all strong. “Enter.”The door opens slowly with a woman silhouette appearing by the wall. It is Seraphina. Di

Desiree’s POV As Gillian orders his guards to open the door that perhaps leads to his father's stay, his hand clasps into mine, a sign of protection. I cough slightly, trying to remove my hand from his grip but he only holds it tighter, causing me to raise a brow at him but I guess that is the worst mistake because his eyes are on mine, staring intensely. “Don't even try to,” He warns and I clear my throat awkwardly before murmuring. “You don't really have to. I can manage myself.” He doesn't give me a reply or let go of my hand, he just hums a ‘yes’ and we halt to a stop at a gate. “Get yourself for the unthinkable, Desiree. It's either a charge, a shred, a growl or a good stillness in the room.” He warns and I close my eyes, taking a deep breath. It's either yay or nay. I just want to see the man who caused me harm and who is going to cause me more harm if I do not move. Luna Lyra’s words come in again. “You can always come to me.” I quickly push it away as Gillian calls th
