Run. Run. Alyssa. Run. Now.

Through the woods, I picked up my pace as fast as my wolf would take me. My heart is racing fast, a thousand thoughts running through my mind.

‘His not ours!’ Ligia remarked

“I can’t let him catch me,” I thought to myself, desperate for a way out of the woods. My body wants to give up on me, and my legs hurt. It feels like I have been running for hours.

I have no strength left, but I can’t give up. I need to run away.

They filled the woods with loud howls, and I didn’t know what to do. I am at the end of the cliff with nowhere to go.

Looking down, I can’t risk jumping. It would be the end of me, but it would be better than letting those wolves catch me. I can’t let another man have me. I belong to one man. My mate.

“Allie Give up! It’s over” The wolf that was leading the rogues, shifts back into his human form as I look around. I can’t just give up like this.

My life depends on it.

I am thinking of jumping, but I can’t do that. It would kill me and my wolf.

“Allie, it’s now or never. We can’t let him take us” Ligia, my wolf reminds me of what might happen to me if I don’t jump.

“Okay… Ready?” I ask Ligia, taking a step back, ready to jump off the cliff. It’s too dark. I can’t see where we will fall.

Beep. Beep. Beep

The sounds of my alarms go off, waking me up from the nightmare that has been haunting the last four years. I press the alarm, turning it off as I groan; I let out a breath, thinking of the long journey ahead of us.

Stretching myself, I managed to peel off my covers before walking and getting out of bed.

It is going to be a long two weeks ahead of me and I just don’t seem to understand why Jason wants me to accompany him to his alpha convention.

Rubbing my eyes, I head into the bathroom. I need to get ready for the journey. We have to get to the Ancient moon pack, but I am not very excited about it.

I hate flying.

“Shit”

Stumbling on the bags that I had packed last night. “Damn You!” I curse, turning on the lights as I grab my toothbrush to brush my teeth.

I have to make sure that I am ready before Jason, who seems to be in a habit of waking up late despite being the Alpha of this pack.

Staring in the mirror, I have dark circles under my eyes. The late nights are not helping. I haven’t even fully recovered from the last trip.

I finish brushing my long hair back, tied it up in a messy bun, and quickly apply some makeup to my face, and I don’t want to look like a walking zombie.

I quickly get dressed. Jason insists on me looking presentable when we arrive, but I decide to change my clothes later on the plane. For now, I am settling for something casual.

Blue Ripped jeans, black tank top with converse. I grab my sunglasses making my way downstairs. I know it will piss Jason off to see me like this, but that’s fine.

I head to his room; I need to wake him up before going to have breakfast.

 

He's probably fast asleep, I think to myself as I head into the hallway leading to his room.

The loud voice of the she-wolf moaning filled my ears as leaned against the door waiting for my brother to finish his sexual escapades. No wonder he was not letting me mind-link him.

I wonder who the she-wolf was this time around. These girls, don’t they ever learn anything from this? Sleeping with someone in hoping he will make them Luna?

I sighed heavily before turning around to leave. I had enough of this.

Turning on my heel I didn’t hesitate to stop in my tracks as I went to the dining hall, where I knew I would find Freya and Diego, my eye catches Diego who seems to be flirting with some new girl that I have never seen before, She is in a skimpy dress and sitting on his laps while his chatting to the other people

“Where are you going dressed like that?” Diego asked me as I rolled my eyes. He was not about to question my choice of clothes.

Yes, he was beta to my brother. He had no right to question what I am wearing. He knows it, he might not seem like it but his a sweet ruthless man.

He is always wearing a smile on his face, but also someone who is a lethal killer.

“Good morning everyone. I say, grabbing some coffee from the coffeemaker before making my way to sit at the dining table.

“Morning,” murmurs fill the room as I smile to myself. The best warriors are coming with us to the convention.

“Is Jason awake?” Frey asks me with a straight face as I shake my head. I know she has something for my brother. Ever since she joined us six years ago, she has always hoped he would one day look at her.

But to him, she was just some rogue that I rescued and insisted on taking with me. Jason loathes rogues, he hates them so much, but to me, they are also people that deserve to be treated like us. After all, you never really know why they are not in a pack.

“I didn’t see him,” I replied lazily plopping down on the chair next to her and he nods her smile quickly fading from her face as I sighed heavily.

It disappointed me that my brother would rather be with slut than someone like Frey, but then again, I wouldn’t want my Gamma and Best friend to be entangled with such a man whore.

“Oh, why not?” Freya was persistent in wanting to know everything.

“His with a woman,” I said defeated folding my arms, as she nodded her head disappointment on her face.

 

 

She clenched on tight to her fork as everyone looked at her. “You okay Frey?” I mind link her and she nods her head.

‘Please excuse me,” She says, pushing back her chair as she walks away from the room. I sigh heavily, wanting to go after her.

‘Don’t. Give her time'  Diego’s mind links me.

What the heck is he doing? I should be worried about her. She’s my best friend.

I just can’t sit back and let her go, knowing Jason might bring his she-wolf with us.

Ignoring Diego, I grab an apple making my way to where she must have gone to hide. The garden.

Growing up, I always looked up to my brother as someone who was morally upright. He was a man of principles, someone who was fair and just, but the last two years have proven otherwise.

When he first met his mate, it intrigued him, excited, and over the moon. He had picked up the scent of his fated one on the day of their last Alpha convention.

But when she rejected him, it broke him. The one person he looked forward to meeting, the person he wanted to love and protect in this world, rejected him with no reason attached to it.

As an alpha, he didn’t want to seem pitiful. He accepted the rejection even though it would break him.

Because of that, now all he does is have she-wolves every single night in his room fulfilling his sexual desires.

Because he had no Luna, I had to take up the role of being his mother, sister, and Luna.

“Hey.”

I say almost in a whisper, and she chuckles, turning to look at me. ‘I must look pathetic, right?” She asks me, her eyes puffy. She was crying?

“Frey. Why don’t you just let it go? Huh? Jason doesn’t deserve you, and you should cry over him,” I beckoned, sitting next to her and she shook her head.

"You don’t understand Allie. You will understand when you are all in love. It’s hard to let go,” She said to me as I frowned my eyebrows.

"Frey…”

I wanted to say, but she just stood up, ‘We should get going, Jason is heading to the Jet” She said to me as I nodded my head standing up from the chair, it hurts to love someone who does not love you.
