I drove home in silence.
Not the uncomfortable kind, the kind that has too much in it.the kind that needs to be left alone.
When I got home,I parked,I sat in the car for four minutes before I went inside.
Those four minutes were for composing myself. I have always been good at composing myself.I have composed myself in cars, bathrooms,and just outside doorways for as long as I can remember,assembling the version of me that can walk into a room and be who people expect, rather than whoever I actually am at that particular moment.
