Maliyah I can’t believe it’s been a year since I woke up. I turn eleven in three days and little Aiden turns one. Mom insists we have a birthday party and I only agreed because of Aiden. I don’t really feel like celebrating. I got up extra early this morning to go riding alone. I know this will make everyone mad but I need some space. There is always someone following me so I left before everyone woke up but I at least alerted border patrol of my little solo ride.

She wanted to ask a lot of questions, but then, she knew that her mommy knew nothing. She observed the date again and started counting. Her real birthday was celebrated eleven days prior to Christmas, but this date was twenty days prior to Christmas and the same birth year. Calvin used to celebrate her birthday every month, just an excuse to celebrate a day with her by eating their favorite chocolate cake, just the two of them. But she knew that when her real birthday was celebrated, all her family members used to be there with her, along with pack members.

It was the morning of his 21st birthday when my entire world fell apart. I had stayed up all night to wish Liam a happy birthday. I had baked a cake at a neighbor's house to surprise him, and I had also called a few of our friends in the pack together to wish him a happy birthday.

It’s finally the end of the day and I am so happy to be out of school. Talia, Rose, Mona and I are going to the mall to get outfits for the big pack birthday party. The party is this weekend. It falls on my birthday. I am so excited. We like any excuse to have a party. Eighteen years ago, our pack had a big baby boom. Ten of us were born days apart. Ben, the future beta, and I were born on the same day. The future alpha was born 2 days before us. His birthday is on Thursday. Nathan’s birthday is Friday. Ben, Rose, and my birthday are this Saturday. All the ranked wolves had babies close together. It must have been something in the water that year.
