Architecture books, big and heavy. A rolled up poster. A hoodie that matches the one I am wearing. "So," he says. "Where do you live?" I give him my address. He types it into his phone and sets it on the dashboard. The map lights up. Twelve minutes away. "Twelve minutes," he says. "If you want music, there is a radio. If you want silence, that is fine too. If you want me to pull over at any point, just say so. Okay?"

"Is that… is that the right page you're on? Maybe you should double check, or I could go get you a new textbook if—” "I’m sure. Already did the last page." "Already?" I grabbed my phone to check the time. Only ten minutes had passed since I started the timer. Ten minutes. “Oh, but an hour really is a long time to do all those questions.” Not at all, it was actually very short, but I was hoping maybe he didn’t know that “You don't have to rush. If I was to read the whole of a 500-page book in 13 minutes, then… This was indeed crazy. But I guess I had no turning back at this point. I ride my scooter to bring the book to the park, but it just wouldn’t start again. Darn, thing! I don’t have enough time so I decided to run towards the park. Soon, I arrived there and looked around, searching for the asshole. I saw him at the bench and rushed towards him. “Here.” I hurriedly handed him the book and run away as fast as I could. I was almost hit by a car rushing towards my way if only I didn’t stop at once. My heart trembled in fear. That was close. I looked at my wristwatch. I only have seven minutes. I need to hurry!

I ask again for clarification. "I told you. Once you've read the entire book," he says nonchalantly. "The book is, like, 500 pages. That'll take me ages. By the time we start, I won't even remember what's on the first ten pages," I grumble. "Then you'd better get started, little bean," he teases.

I needed to get ready. I closed the book carefully and returned it to its place on the shelf. As I turned to leave, my eyes caught on another book, this one was slim and bound in white leather: "The Luna's Gift: Understanding Your True Power." I pulled it from the shelf, but when I opened it, the pages were blank. Completely blank, as if the book had never been written in or the ink had somehow faded entirely.
