“Then why thirty days?” The old woman reached for her teacup thoughtfully. “A wolf knows instinctively. If a bond is possible…It begins quickly.” “Within thirty days the wolf either opens its heart…” “…or closes it forever.” Pieces I had never questioned before suddenly rearranged themselves in my mind. Every woman who came before. Thirty fays then they left unmarked. Some alive. And some…. “And every time…” I whispered. “His wolf rejected them.” She nodded solemnly. “And every rejection sounded like another countdown toward death.”

"Write down three things you love about each other. Don't overthink it. Don't edit yourself. Just write whatever comes to mind." Julian finished in thirty seconds. His pen moved fast, like the words had been waiting to get out. I took five minutes. I stared at the paper. I chewed on the end of my pen. I crossed out words and rewrote them. "Who wants to go first?" Dr. Chen asked.

She stopped school 2 years back when she found out that she had cancer. Her only company when she was bored was Emma and if she wasn’t around like right now, it's her laptop. She loved writing stories and sometimes poems. And even music. But she had never ever finished a story she’s ever written. Maybe she hadn’t gotten the right inspirations yet. She remembered she wrote a short story about Emma’s first break up. But she hasn’t completed it too. A churchy guy whom she claimed she loved, after spending the first night at his place.

He is already being tortured in my head. "Okay, since you understand. I'm going to give you a week to present me with another Romance story. Remember not to write another love story and think before you submit your first story for the official evaluation at the end of the month. To make it challenging." He pauses, and he stands up and stares at me while grinning. "I'll challenge you." My brows furrow after he says that. "Rewrite that story turn it into a romance." He says that while he is elevating his chin, looking at me with a challenging gesture.

I admit I'm a bit of a gossip. She tells him that she urgently needs a candidate, that she needs someone to try out and write about their fifteen days at the gym. Without meaning to, a smile comes out of me. Who can't write about the experience of going to the gym? I don't see the need for someone to go and experience it, you can search on G****e or imagine countless scenes that can happen on your first or fifteenth day, it all depends on what you want to convey.

Caroline just needed to find a hobby. In the past two days, she no longer felt aimless. Instead, she found a direction in her life. She wanted to try writing a book. Although she thought it was a ridiculous idea, she wanted to give it a shot anyway. Caroline thought that she wouldn't be able to write anything since it was her first time. But unexpectedly, her mind overflowed with ideas after she turned on the laptop. Just like that, she wrote ten thousand words in just half a day. When Caroline saw what she had written, she felt a sense of familiarity once more. It was as if she had seen them somewhere. However, this was the first time she had written this.

Then Theo said, very slowly, "Thirty days." "Yes." "As in one month." "That is what thirty days means, yes." He stared at me. I stared back at him. He looked down at his notepad, wrote something, looked back up at me. "Okay," he said, in the voice of a man who had decided he was simply not going to process this information right now and would deal with it at a later time. Kate raised her hand like we were in a classroom. "Ma'am, when you say thirty days, do you mean thirty days from today specifically or is that like a general ballpark kind of thirty?"

Chapter 28: Talkative Samantha's POV We're done with my first plan. I'm thinking about doing something again. Maybe I should write a list. I grabbed my notebook and a pen. I wrote first about what happened yesterday. “What are you doing?” he asked me. We're sitting on the balcony right now, watching the sunrise. “I'm doing my list. How to Move On in Thirty Days. I’m telling you, after this plan, you will forget about her.” I winked at him and continued writing.

I just didn't know why I was experiencing a block now. “Is everything alright?” I snapped my head up to see Meera watching me with concern. Checking the wall clock, I realized it was around three p.m. which was the usual time Meera came back from work. “Yea. Everything is fine.” I smiled and leaned back in my seat. “I saw you slam your laptop, Iris.” She took a seat opposite me. “That doesn't seem fine to me.” I sighed and let my shoulders sag before proceeding to let her in on my struggle with my writing. “I can't bring out a single word, and tomorrow is the deadline for submission. If I fail, that's it. I lose the opportunity of a lifetime.”
