The sky didn’t just break this time. It opened. Not like a fracture. Not like a tear. Like something far beyond their understanding had finally found enough space— To exist. Luke couldn’t look away. The thing forming beyond the collapsing sky wasn’t a world. Wasn’t a being. It was… structure. Layer upon layer of reality folding into itself— Endlessly— Like an idea trying to become infinite. “…what is that?” he whispered. Nyra didn’t answer right away.

It’s lovely and full of bright yet softly colored flowers and there’s a fountain in the center. When we reach the fountain, he leans over and taps the water. I see ripples form and then it’s like I’m watching a movie on the surface. It’s me as a baby. I’m sleeping in a crib in a nursery. I don’t really understand what I’m seeing or why until something at the edge of the scene catches my eye. I see a soft glow and as I concentrate on it, it seems to grow as it gets closer to me as a baby. “This… is the one and only time I risked going to you. Gods don’t normally get ill, but as an infant, your body had not begun to develop the immunities we have yet.”

Anticipation. The mirror’s surface ripples once, twice. The glass loses its sheen and takes on depth, the way night does at the lip of a forest. For a heartbeat I see the room reflected, the crib, the chair, my face, Blake’s, and then all that is replaced by a stair that wasn’t there before, a spiral carved out of absence, each step limned in a very old kind of light that isn’t light at all. Tara breathes, reverent.

It didn't illuminate the cave; rather, it seemed to suck the light out of the room, warping the geometry of the air around it. "The Chronal Horizon," Klaus whispered, his eyes reflecting the erratic, flickering glow of the rift. "A localized pocket of non-linear time. Look closely, Ethan. What do you see?" Ethan walked to the edge of the catwalk, gripping the cold steel railing. He stared into the swirling vortex of light. At first, it was just a blinding blur. But as his eyes adjusted, the chaotic patterns began to form shapes, like a film projector running multiple movies on the same screen.

Unity in Chaos Iris (startled awake): "Where am I? This isn't genuine, please. She was in a beautiful silver radiance, standing in a limitless emptiness. Caleb appeared beside her, confused, but soon snapped out of it. (Gesturing around) "Iris? What is this? One of your tricks?" Iris: "I don't know," she said harshly. It might be one of yours. An almost mystical resonance filled the room as a musical voice reverberated.

“Not the feeling first—the landscape. Detailed enough for a mason to build it, and an astronomer to chart it.” The word “landscape” brings me back. Not dream, not vision—landscape. Real. I gather the edges in my mind so they won’t slip away. “There was a lake,” I begin slowly. “Black. I couldn’t see stars on it, but deep below something was glowing, like tiny beings of light were moving there. The shore was ash. Not hot, not dirty—more like stone-dust that leaves no print.” I close my eyes a moment to recall the scent. “Scentless. Like when glass has held water for too long and now a hand reaches in.” The tip of my tongue tastes of metal as I say it. “On the shore, stone pillars. Thin. Each

Caleb The sky above us is the most extraordinary thing I have ever seen. Not blue exactly. Not any single color. It shifts between shades that do not have names, moving the way the surface of water moves when light hits it from an angle, and I can look directly at it without it hurting my eyes. That is the strangest part. There is no squinting, no burning, no need to look away. Just this vast brilliant canopy above us that seems to go on forever and somehow feels like it is only for us.

The hall erupted in applause. Nathan smiled from the audience, his eyes fixed only on me. The world he gave me was one that would never fade–an endless, brilliant beginning.

“Stay focused. The bloom is not just aware of us. It’s aware of the others.” The horizon trembled, and waves of light surged from the spiral fracture, rippling outward like the wake of a cosmic storm. Each wave carried fragments of memory entire lifetimes compressed into glimmering motes that scattered across the land. Some settled in people’s minds, gifting insight. Others collided, causing confusion, fear, and occasional madness.

Seeing me there, sitting in silence, not even bothering to look back, her face went ashen, her lips quivering. Jack, for his part, was past caring about her cold shoulder. His mind was racing to get her out of there. He wanted to take her back home where he could smoothly talk to her, use my aloofness to snuff out the flicker of love that was lighting up in her heart again.
