LOST AND FOUND
Mireya turned, horror flashing in her eyes.
“Tell me that’s not—”
“It’s her,” Kaelen said quietly, rising to his feet. “And she’s not finished.”
The light underfoot blazed, swallowing the clearing in white.
The light swallowed everything.
Kaelen’s first thought was that he’d gone blind. There was no sound, no shape—only brilliance so pure it devoured the edges of the world. His pulse echoed inside the silence, steady, defiant. When the light thinned, he saw outlines forming—a valley made of glass and ash, and above it, a fractured moon bleeding silver rain.
