My thoughts weren’t aligned like they usually were. Something about today had disrupted everything. Something I couldn’t explain. I finally turned away from him, gaze falling back toward the glass of champagne I hadn’t touched again. “I don’t know,” I said flatly after a pause. A beat of silence followed. ********* CALYX’S POV Slowly, I blinked. My vision was blurred at first, everything hazy and unstable, like I was looking at the world through fog. I blinked again, and again, forcing my eyes to adjust until things slowly came into focus.

Above, the library’s invisible ceiling dipped low, pressing the ink‑fog into a dome. In the center hovered a mass of something that wasn’t exactly code and wasn’t exactly paper. Screens. Hundreds of them. Shards of glass and light, all different sizes, some still bezeled, others raw, floating in a tight cluster. They showed flickering scenes from the worlds we’d crossed—castle corridors, neon alleys, the Ferris wheel, the bus—the images stuttered and overlapped like a thousand live feeds crammed into one broken mosaic.

Through the crystallized time and the Source Code and the partition and the Absence and the Dreamer and the bottom of everything. At something that was, for the first time since the universe began, moving. Not toward them. Not away. Upward. Twenty-six.

“Just waiting.” A rider broke from the formation and galloped toward us. She wore armor that looked ancient, ornate, covered in the same crescent moon symbols. When she got close enough, I could see her face. She was maybe forty, with sharp features and eyes that looked exactly like mine. She dismounted and walked straight past Nasir like he didn’t exist. Stopped right in front of me. “You have your mother’s eyes,” she said softly. “And her fire, I’m told.”

They were too strong for me. Suddenly my eyeslids were too heavy for me to keep open. Black spots clouded my vision and little by little it got darker and the eyelids heavier. That's when I let the darkness consume me sending me into it's deepest tunnels hoping that it keeps me there for the longest time ever. The end.... Joseph handed the crystal to Theodore with a frown. Taking the crystal, Theodore said, "Don't worry, I'll help you find your crystal. The more, the merrier, right? I hung up. I rested my chin over my knuckles, casually staring at the nothingness in front of me as if it was a very normal thing to do. It's impossible for me to acquire that virus. There's no way I'm going to interact with anyone, especially now that there's a very reasonable excuse not to. Suddenly, a black and purple blur crossed my vision. I whipped my head to the side, following its trajectory. It was a butterfly.

I look toward the horizon. Beyond the relit skyline. Farther than the web we stood inside. And I feel it. A new pulse. Not part of the old structure. Not tied to the collapsed convergence. Small. Independent. Unmapped. “No,” I say softly. “It is not over.” The new signal activates fully in the distance. Not copying. Not converging. Not asking permission. Just… beginning.

I let out a soft chuckle. Kaleid's type is a person who is innocent, naive, foolish, stupid, easy to use, and easy to manipulate. Those are his types. But of course, I didn't dare to utter those words and just listened to their conversation while at the same time, I was sketching something in my history notebook. “Well, I can't say my type since I already found one.” Kaleid playfully said with a wide grin on his face, making him look refreshing to look at especially by the aura that he radiates.

“So that’s something we keep.” Lyra met his gaze. “Yes.” The space flickered again. More stable now. More responsive. Less empty. It was forming. Slowly. Carefully. Without knowing if it was right. Kael looked around. “So this is where everything starts again.” Lyra shook her head. “No.” She turned slightly, watching the faint structure grow clearer. “Not again.” He frowned. “Then what is it?” Her voice softened. “This is where something new begins.” Silence.
