A Sheep In Wolf's Clothing Meaning Novels & Stories

"The amulet... it's not just an object. It has a power that many desire." We ventured deeper into the forest, tall and dense trees surrounding us, casting unsettling shadows. Suddenly, a howl echoed in the distance, followed by others, like a sinister symphony drawing nearer. "The pack is here!" Lucas exclaimed, looking into the darkness. A group of wolves emerged from the trees, their eyes gleaming with determination. Kessler, the alpha of the pack, approached the lead wolf, the same silver-gray wolf we had helped before, and gave a nod of recognition.

"And what was that supposed to mean?" Felise asked. But I simply lifted the tip of my shoulders in response to her inquiry. My wolf has been in the world for twenty-six years but I never heard of anything like that in our kind. A She-wolf? What was that supposed to mean? And what could possibly be the reason those rogue wolves are after her? "That's what those men called him. A she-wolf. Perhaps Alpha Alexander knows something about it." I heaved a sigh of distress before I raised the blanket that was wrapped around the woman's body up to her chest.

Grimmer continued, his gaze sweeping over us like a searchlight. "We have no room for distractions. We have no room for the broken." He began to walk down the stairs of the stage. Each thud of his boots felt like a hammer hitting a nail. "And most importantly," Grimmer said, his eyes locking onto mine as he reached the floor, "we will no longer tolerate or keep wolves in sheep’s clothing." The phrase sent a jolt of ice through my stomach. What does he mean? My grades? My absences? He walked down the center aisle, students shrinking away.

He reached out and caught a strand of the chestnut wig between his fingers, tugging it, just slightly. "I see a wolf in sheep's clothing," he whispered. "I see a person who has managed to make my sister love them in three weeks more than her husband has. And I’m wondering, Antonella... what happens to the sheep when the wolf finally gets hungry?" "The wolf is not the one she should fear in this house, Lucien," I said, my voice dropping into a register that was dangerously close to my own.

A timid she-wolf appeared at the door, clutching a tattered dress, peering nervously inside. Adrian's gaze snapped to her, cold and hostile. "Who are you? You shouldn't be here." She held out the ruined dress with trembling hands. "I wanted to trade with the she-wolf whose dress got destroyed this morning." "The dress seemed important to her. She was dragged away before she could get it back. I hid it…" His eyes locked onto the shredded fabric, and his expression turned lethal. "Did you do this?" The she-wolf shook her head frantically. "No — no, it wasn't me. I was passing by this morning and saw her being attacked by a group of she-wolves. The one in charge tore the dress apart."

"What you encountered was no rogue wolf. I stared at her dumbfounded. "But... it was. I saw it! It was big and vicious, and it-" "It was something else," she said finally, stopping me. "Something far worse." A cold feeling curled up my spine. "What do you mean? She ran a hand through her hair with a soft, resigned exhalation as she dropped into the chair opposite them. "There's stuff out in the world, Sophia, which you won't as yet understand-nasty stuff that is unpredictable and appears mostly not quite as it is. That wasn't a wolf, what you saw. It was something called a shadow wolf."

said Ellie quickly, “You know all those wolf pictures on the fridge that you always laugh about? It isn’t just that we like wolves. I mean, that would be kinda weird, right? Sheep farmers, who love wolves? But that’s what we are.” “Oookaaay...” Lia said skeptically, still not sure what this conversation was about. “She means we are wolves, no that we are weird sheep farmers.” Elsie supplied into the silence. “What?” “Okay, remember that picture beside my bed? The one with all those wolves on it that you thought was a strange picture to have in a frame on a bedside table? Well, it isn't a National Geographic photo I put in there, it’s uhm… It’s a family photo. We’re werewolves.”

I had hope that it wouldn't just happen now. But like every other year, at this point I would wish that my name wasn't my name. I would wish that I wasn't Allison Bush, the last air of the Bush who actually is the only one that turns into a full wolf on a full moon. I was trying to run from that and some other things.. But then again, you can't run away from yourself!!

I laughed as he jumped at me again, and I grabbed him by his leg and tossed him to the ground. "I remember this one time, the two of you decided that you wanted to beat on this one pack wolf. See, he was weak at the time because his wolf had tucked themselves away. What you didn't expect after you tossed him from that cliff and down into the gorge, was for him to come back to life." I moved toward the wolf, aware of another coming up behind me. While the murderer before me was climbing to his feet, I quickly spun around and snapped the neck of the other wolf who had just joined us.

“You can’t wear this.” The smile on her face dropped. “What do you mean I can’t wear this? What’s wrong with my clothes?” “They’re too…” I racked my mind for a word, my eyes trailing up the shorts. “Provocative! Yes, that’s the word.” “Well, these are the least provocative clothes I have, so… Plus no one ever really minded the clothes at Andre’s pack.” My eyes widened. “You wore these in front of other wolves?!” She took a few steps back. “What’s the problem here?”
