It was Austin. Our bodies were tightly pressed against each other. I could feel that his towering body was shivering against mine. He was also breathing heavily and erratically. It felt as if he wanted to gobble me up. I slowly squeezed my legs together and felt his bulge growing bigger and harder. He was also getting a lot warmer to the touch as he breathed hot air all over me. Austin said nothing. He just turned on the light on his phone and looked at me with the gentlest expression ever. His eyes were so soft and watery that I could clearly see my reflection in them.

I gather a thread of that fire. Just a thread. And direct it closer to the surface of my skin. The fire yields. Slowly. Clumsy. Like the muscles of a new born clave trying to hold up an eager body for the first time. It rises through me, a burning river carving its way upward. My eyes snap open. Fire dances along my palm and I gasp. Because it’s there. In my hand. Not spreading like an inferno or whipping out like a chaotic lash. THE SMALL FIRE THAT SHE had built earlier in the day for her papa’s comfort was now all but dead, with only a few live coals glowing red beneath the soft gray ash. Raven was judiciously adding a handful of twigs and bark she’d gathered from the forest to rekindle the blaze. Bending close, she blew gently on the embers, and before long a thin yellow tongue of flame shot up to curl around the dry wood. Then, almost as quickly, it died back a bit, and Raven bent very close to try again.

It was like a lit firework! It was also like a fire dragon shuttling back and forth. The fuse spread all the way and finally led to various houses. It was not gunpowder, so it didn't feel as good as exploding at once. However, the effect it would bring was not necessarily worse than gunpowder. As the house was ignited, the fire began to burn slowly. In the end, when the whole fire was completely ignited, the effect instantly reached its peak.

When a raucous growl thundered far closer than before, her entire existence shivered in panic. The louder her chants grew, the taller the fire enveloped her. Slowly, inching closer to her, blocking anyone's view of her existence. Cristine occasionally frowned at the smoke from the burning cigarette but Justin didn't seem to care. "You're like a steam train in the days before people knew the benefits of electricity well," Cristine quipped as she took a tissue. She covered her nose so she wouldn't smoke too much. She also ordered Naya to open the door to the room as wide as possible to allow for a quick exchange of air circulation. "At least I'll be able to unwind from the antics of your future daughter-in-law. Isn't that right, Mrs. Cristine Desmond?" Justin said with a small grin.
