The fact that her mates were going to provide her with one elated her. It was such a standard thing to do but held so much meaning behind it. The Nest was a tomb of silvered wood and rusted iron, buried so deep in the Blackwood state forest that the GPS had given up ten miles back, leaving them to navigate by the memory of a road Julian hadn't traveled in a decade. It was a sprawling hunting lodge that had seen better decades, its cedar walls grayed by the elements and its windows narrow like gun slits. As the SUV’s headlights cut through the thick, pre-dawn mist, the structure loomed out of the dark like a jagged ribcage. This was where the Vane name had been forged in moonshine and blood, long before the bespoke suits and the glass towers. This was the dirt beneath the empire.

Liam turned the wheel, heading west toward our target. Nests were curious things, each one different depending on the inhabitants. We had surmised that the nests that were more aesthetically pleasing probably had an angel or two involved in them, whereas the sloppier ones were only Nephilim. If I had to describe it, I would say it appeared almost like a volcano, but more pronounced, the top of the opening easily as high as a four-story building. Usually a neutral color, gray, brown or a dark sandy type of color, these structures erupted from the Earth, forming a gaping maw. Sometimes the opening was a jagged gash, others were circular/oval or more uniform. Very little was known about the inn

She thought with a rueful grin. "I'm not nesting," Allen said at the same time that Sebestian asked what exactly nesting was. "An Omega only nests when they go into heat," he said. He remembered how crazy Rose had been when she had been nesting when she had met Jordon, he wasn't doing that, was he?
