The deep red liquid spilled onto her shirt, staining it and spreading outwards like a macabre halo. The blood had already started to dry on her skin, leaving a dark, crusty trail that extended from her neck down to her chin. The sight of it made me feel sick to my stomach. As I looked closer, I noticed that the blood had also trickled down onto Clara's face, leaving smears of red on her cheeks and forehead.

Maybe she was inside and couldn’t hear me because of some sort of soundproofing, even though the house didn’t look like it had soundproofing. I opened the door to one room. It was empty. Then I moved to the next room. When I opened the door, I saw a pool of blood on the floor at the center of the room. It had seeped through some clothes on the floor and the floorboards and was spreading rapidly. I took a few steps closer to it, crouched down, and slowly touched the blood. When I did, the blood was wet, dripping back from my fingers onto the floor—not dried and sticky, like someone who had been left there for days. This was a very recent occurrence.

My eyes got wet quickly due to the extreme pain of my left hips that just hit the table and I was about to try to stand up from the floor even though I was still having a hard time when I just suddenly felt wet from my down there. I thought that it was just an alcoholic drink that was suddenly spilled the moment that I accidentally hit the table but it was not because when I touched that wet with my finger and when I already raised my hand to look at what is it, I saw blood from there which made quickly envelop with so much nervousness and so much fear.

I bow my head and look at the glass shards shattered on the floor which are stained with my blood, “But please... Let me clean this up for you before I go. I don’t want you to get hurt because of me.” As I promise, I slowly squat down on the floor. I wipe the blood off my face with my sleeve, and then I start to pick the glass shards up with my bare head. However, when I collect the glass shards, my blood keeps trickling down and turning them red. My fingers turn red in no time as I touch the glass.

Few minutes had passed but I was still nervously staring at my screen. I finally hit the dial button and placed the phone on my ear waiting for him to pick it up. I felt a liquid dribbling down to my hand with a sharp and quick pain that occured from my ear side. I pulled the phone away to stare at the spot that the liquid had touched and there I found my blood resting on it, as usual.

I had thought about if there would be a way to drink other blood to not harm her, but I feel sick to my stomach even thinking of blood from someone who is not her. I haven’t told her yet, leaving her in the belief that it went away, but unfortunately, it became stronger. It has become a torture, even hugging her rips my soul apart, as I fantasise about sinking my teeth into her soft skin and drinking off her as soon as I get a whiff of her scent. The rough sex was just the right way to take it off my thoughts though. As soon as I was making love to her, I was so consumed by our intimacy and our connection that I didn’t feel the desire to dry her out anymore.

I’d been ignoring it well enough, but this time, when I pulled my fingers away, my skin suddenly stung in the breeze and my fingertips felt wet. Stopping, I looked down at my hand. My fingertips were red and sticky with blood.

"Talk to me. Please." "I just forgot the tap was on!" I lied, wiping my hands on my jeans. I had to get him out before he went into the bedroom. "You didn't just forget a tap," Carl said. He reached out and gently caught my chin, tilting my head up toward the light. I pushed away his hands. He stopped breathing. In the bright light, the dried blood smear across my jawline was completely visible. "What is that?" Carl's voice whispered, his fingers tightening. He pulled his hand back, looking at his thumb. "Victoria... whose blood is this?"

Pushing Oliver out of the way, I ambled to the car intending to search for any slightest details…any detail that Oliver could have missed. Just as I poked my head into the car, the first thing my eyes captured is the dry blood on the steering wheel. My hands moved on their own accord towards the steering until they touched the cold blood. Still in doubt that it belongs to my woman, I brought it closer to my face.

I faltered in pain after falling because some fragments of the broken glass scraped my arm and back, but I managed to get the bottle and successfully scraped all my fingers, causing blood to gush out of the open wounds. I would never let them take my fingerprints, no matter what. "What the?" a man screamed, seeing my bloody body on the floor.
