“How far northwest?” I typed to Aldric. His reply came back in a heartbeat. “Three hours. Toward the silver light. She can see it from where she is.” I turned my screen to Rhydian. He read it, then glanced out at the spreading light near the trees, steady, patient, and honestly, it didn’t care what problem it was causing. “Can we stop it?” Malek asked. “I don’t know how,” I said. “The mark,” Soren said. “If the mark controls the light…."

It hurt so badly that I broke out in cold sweat and pulled myself into a fetal position, shivering hard under my blankets. I thought of getting something to drink and got up, carelessly making my way downstairs to the kitchen. The lights in the living room weren't turned on. However, I caught sight of a dark figure sitting on the couch in the darkness. It was Leonard. He sat on the couch without moving a muscle. He was holding a cigarette between his fingers, the faint glow flickering in the dark. I didn't dare to make a sound and thought of retreating as quietly as possible. "Since you're already up, you might as well come over."

It was about what was *under* it. The package began to emit a steady, rhythmic, blinking red light.

I murmured. That gave me an idea. I fumbled through my bag and found the keychain flashlight, which wasn't going to be helpful, but the other side was a laser pointer. I pointed it towards a threshold in a mirror. As the light left the flashlight, the red beam became visible. It wasn't just a spot like in our world, instead, it was a path of light. "Whoa," I whispered. Then louder, I asked, "Can you see that?" Remi's image looked left and right following the red beam in front of him. "Yes! Let me follow it."

Sicca was doing everything he could to calm my nerves, but they were stubborn, refusing to bend. “Ready for a little magic?” His ice-blue eyes sparkled at me, playful and teasing. I nodded at him, then turned my gaze forward. He produced a small object from his pocket, almost like a miniature hockey puck. It was a vivid green. With a flick of his wrist, he sent it skimming across the gravel. As it landed, a green light shimmered upward from it. Sicca placed a steadying hand on my waist, guiding me toward the glowing patch. It shaped itself into an oval, like a massive mirror one could walk through.

Paul nervously chuckled, releasing my hands. "Let me capture your photos now." Paul suggested, making his way across the room. "You seem to have captured everyone's liking, wife." Justin approached me and I stared at him. Then, Mr. Paul spoke up, "Camera lights are ready for action, sir." Justin gestured for me to proceed, but I shook my head;I wasn't quite ready yet. He furrowed his brows, I quietly looked away. "Don't tell me you're camera-shy." I heard Justin scoff.

Just moments ago, I accepted a delivery order. My task was to pick up the order from the drugstore and deliver it to Jubilee Heights, a gated community. I was about a mile away from the drop-off location when I saw the order details. The customer, Ms. Irina Upton, had purchased special protection product and added a note, saying, "Please deliver it within 30 minutes. You'll be getting an additional tip. Thanks." It was noon. Were they in such a rush?

A string of light came out from Aelius pinky, then climb up until it reaches the treetop. In the road of darkness, Stella saw a string of light wrapped around her pinky. Then another string of light appeared from the direction of Aelius. It was as if, he is reaching out for her.

He nodded and stared back at me, “I know how to drive, are you doubting me? Don’t you trust me?” I rolled my eyes in annoyance. What’s up with that guy? We rode the car silently, I mean, I was silent but Daya and he were talking.” Daya was seated in the front seat anyway. When we were already at the entrance of the school, I heard Daya with her annoying voice trying to act cute, “Kuya Triton, could you accompany me till my room? Because my teacher might get mad because I’m late.” I rolled my eyes to that and interrupted, “Daya, your class starts at 8:30 AM and it’s still 7:40 AM so you’re still early for class.”
