The small boy stares at me with big blue eyes questioningly and glances at Adrexa, who's standing behind me. I guess she signaled to the boy that it was okay to answer and said softly, "Aeneas." Holy Shit! I took a Classical Greek History and Mythology class in my Freshman year at college. I read a lot of Homer and I know how Troy is destroyed when the Trojan War ends. It's a relief the conflict hasn't started yet! But I also had to read an epic poem by Virgil, The Aeneid. The poem is about the journey of the Trojan survivor Aeneas. The ancestor of Rome.

The circle was a magic spell inscribed on the ground and the runes on it reminded Tirana of what she saw in Margaret's book. Like…a scar.” Selene whispered. Selene carefully opened the book, her pulse hammering. The first page held no title. No author. Only a single sentence, carved into the parchment like a wound: “Twelve were chosen, but thirteen were made.” Theoden’s breath stilled. Selene flipped the page, scanning the faded script.

It still hung above the Heartfire, its surface reflecting two halves of the same flame. Arianne looked up at it, her voice trembling with reverence. “Lyra’s light still shines in this mirror.
