“It was nice knowing you.” Then I sprung to my feet and rushed back inside the house. I sprinted up the stairs and slammed the door shut when I got to my room. Feeling numb, I sat down on the floor in the middle of the room. The rejection still lingered and I doubted that the coldness in my chest would disappear anytime soon. I took out my phone and sent a text to Linnea, telling her that the rejection was done and she could attack anytime she wanted.

I twitched my lips and walked straight to my laptop that wasn't far from the kitchen. I had to put my glasses on and sat down. If it isn't tons of rejection emails. Six months into my grim bone cancer diagnosis, the doctor urged me to get hospitalized before it was too late. Broke and out of options, I dialed Morgan Kramer one final time.
