I did not want to wake up again. Jaime’s cries faded into the distance. She said she wanted to meet me again in the next life. I never wanted to see her again.

I just wanted to be a free wind, to become the purest dust in this dark night. As the first ray of dawn pierced the mist on the horizon, my soul began to glow with a soft, cerulean light, carried on the salt-laced breeze. Bit by bit, it silently peeled away, dissipating. I dissolved into countless motes of crystalline dust, vanishing into the vastness of the world. There was no pain, no sorrow. This time, I was finally, and utterly, my own.

Elowen's POV The sprawling meadow behind the packhouse was in full, glorious bloom, a vibrant, living canvas stretching to meet the horizon. It was a wild ocean of soft lavender swaying gently in the moonlit breeze, dotted with the sun-kissed faces of daisies and the delicate chime of tiny bellflowers. The night was warm, thick with the lingering heat of a long, sun-drenched day, now steeped in that golden hush that only came with the deepest hours of summer. The evening glow blazed like fire and was stunningly beautiful. I stopped in my tracks and took a moment to really take it in. That bright, burning sunset was like a glimpse of the life waiting for me from here on out. After clawing my way back up from the mud, my future would be just like the view—radiant and full of light.

* --- **The Aftermath** I wake in the wasteland, the sky whole, the crimson star gone. Ravel sleeps nearby, her face gaunt. The survivors are silent, their eyes clear. But the static is quiet. *Gone.* Nessa's voice lingers in the wind: **"You're welcome."** --- **The Horizon** At dusk, a new star ignites-emerald, silent, watching. Ravel stirs, her hand finding mine. "What now?" I stare at the fresh scar on my palm-a spiral-and-thorns, glowing gold. **"We keep fighting."**

And I would rise gloriously from the ashes. The waiting was agony, but triumph blazed so near at hand I could taste it - rich honeyed wine upon my tongue. Just a little longer before her end. Our end was in sight.

It seems it had enchanting powers, it started making my own eyes glow. "Stay with me, don't fall asleep too soon Glow. Your fellow Angels can wait for a moment, come real close. Forget the world outside, finally we are alone together after how long? Was it meant to be like this," sNoooohe asked. I stared at her and said, "when I see how my path, seem to end up before your face. It is no doubt that the state of my heart and the place where we are was written in th stars," I said.

So I'll memorize the constellations of her freckles, The sound of her laugh like distant thunder, The way she sees beauty in broken things.. Especially in me. And when darkness finally claims her, I'll remind the world that even extinguished stars Send light traveling for centuries, Illuminating paths they'll never know they touched }

She was beginning to feel like it may surge out of her at any moment. Adam could see her now, and his eyes locked on her. As soon as they did several more wolves made their way out of the woods and began to surround her. Amaris stepped further forward now, knowing that there was no reason to hide now that they knew where she was. As soon as she was in the clearing she was out in the full moon light. She could feel a tingling sensation through her fur. She suddenly felt at peace, even though Gran was still captive and so were the four wolves. She knew she had to get them free and get out of here. With that we talked through the night .
