The Mark of Betrayal
I can feel that Gillian is forward.
Ayla presses forward and we put our forehead against Gillian's.
“I am so sorry for what Althea has done to you, my sister,” I say to her.
“We love you, Gillian,” Ayla says, our own voice choking with sadness at what we’re about to do.
“Please, please let me go. Let me go be with him,” she says softly.
I wrap an arm around her, hugging her.
“I love you, my sister,” I say to Gillian, before extending my claws and sliding them into her throat. I hold her while Althea’s body jerks and chokes on her blood and then hold there, my own tears falling, as her body collapses against mine.
