Forsaken
They were creatures of nightmare, of darkness and death, and they wanted me.
But Hayden wouldn’t let them have me.
With a snarl, one of the furies lunged again, her claws slicing through the air. Hayden met her with a fierce swing of his sword, the clash of metal and magic ringing out like thunder. The fury shrieked in pain as Hayden’s blade cut through her, her form dissolving into shadow before my eyes.
But there were still two more, and they were relentless.
“Hayden!” I cried, fear choking my voice as I watched the remaining furies close in.
