’ It jumped again—this time to dodge a big leaf that had come flying its way somewhere from the left. ‘You can come inside, you know. I won’t mind. I like your company. We can be friends.’ I mumbled, getting up. My head spun and so did the room. The dizziness had started to wear me out. I genuinely felt concerned for my royal blue friend there. For some obvious reasons, I felt especially inclined towards it. It was not the usual flamingo I have ever seen before. Its postures were royal as were the color with white flecks at the beak and the crisp crosses on the feathers—its eyes were sharp and deep: the pacific ocean shade.

Vlad said, his voice raw and full of profound solemnity, reaching into the inner pocket of his dark suit jacket. His slow, deliberate movements added to the intense suspense. “Arabella, look at this.” I say enthusiastically, as I point out the window to a majestic hawk that is perched on a limb. It is just a few feet from our window and staring at me with eyes of a true predator. The wings are sand colored and the breast a bright white. Surely, it must be a younger one, because the older versions colors is usually much darker. While thinking about how we will have our pups in just a few short months, I find myself smiling in spite of myself. Arabella catches me and asks, “May I ask what you are smiling about over there?”

The bird was gigantic, nearly as tall as the shorter trees and with a wingspan wider than the faun's dwelling.

They were a stormy type of speckled warm gray-brown like the wings of a Lanner falcon, the white underside shimmering with some type of light. His Grace, I realized, hearing the bell-like sound of his song as he stroked my chin. The same light wreathed his head in a glow that seemed to black light his eyes, which I realized were not black like I had previously thought. They were blue, a deep somber blue-charcoal of a thunderstorm right before it poured, and now the lightning sparks made more sense.

Gideon sensed that these two seemed to harbor a mutual animosity. The scarlet light parted, unveiling the apex overbeast inside. Unlike Tonitrui Eagle, its size was much smaller. At first glance, it looked like a large bird, with a body that was a fiery red. Its crimson eyes seemed as if they could ignite flames, and its feathers were actually enveloped in real fire. "Flamenie Bird," Gideon acknowledged, glancing at Tonitrui Eagle, which nodded in confirmation. This was indeed a Flamenie Bird, though Gideon suspected it wasn't purebred. Nevertheless, it was extremely rare. Despite being only a lower apex overbeast, it had managed to leave Tonitrui Eagle at a loss, highlighting the difference

Great Alune went for Falcon after I challenged her, she was able to distract him, but she will have to pay with her life. “Leave her alone! Face me, Falcon!” I yelled. He had his hands tightly wrapped around her neck. He wasn't squeezing her physically, but with his magic, I could see him sniffing the life out of her. “No," he responded. It sounded like a thousand men speaking at once. Great Alune was looking pale and slowly becoming lifeless. “You led her to her death, Alpha Herveaux; you’re a bad leader, and never should your father have given the role of Alpha to you; even Fernando will do a better job,” Falcon uttered coldly.

It stared right at her and screeched, defiant. Caitlin was taken aback. It was such a large, beautiful and primal bird. “What is it?” Caitlin asked. “A falcon,” Blake said. Caitlin stared. “It’s a vampire thing,” he added. “We use them as couriers.” “Couriers?” Caitlin asked. Blake set down his spear, took two steps forward, and pointed at the Falcon’s neck. Caitlin looked down and saw the small metal box, clamped to its claw.
