So Mateo and I went the other way and thankfully for being werewolves, we had our night vision and didn’t need torches. But when we got to the end of the corridor, we saw that there was one entrance to another hall that we could enter. Amelia’s scent was strong and I knew that she was in there. I started running down the corridor until I could see the end of the corridor that was blocked off with cement. I stopped a few feet back and I saw someone leaning against the side wall. She had her back to us and I could hear her sniffling. She knew that she had been caught and Mateo was the one that grabbed her by the back of the shirt.

Then, she reached into the folds of her robe and pulled out a small crystal vial filled with golden liquid. "The cure," she said. "One sip, and your Alpha will live." She raised her other hand. In it, a ring—black stone encased in twisted silver. Kendrick could feel the magic humming from it. Raw, ancient. Power unlike anything he had ever felt. Golden arrows slowly emerged, timidly trying to chase away the shadows of the night. The great fire disc made its appearance. First, it emerged as a red line growing wider and wider until it rose victorious into the angelic blue sky, ready to stretch its arms over the whole earth. It tamed its color slightly, becoming comforting as it shyly soaked up the night frost with which you would think it was soothing its own color.

He was being watched. "Hello?" He muttered as he looked around uncomfortably. Something just didn't feel right in here. Suddenly a dark figure emerges from the shadows and pounces on him. Grabbing his neck tight in an effort to strangle him. Prince Ryder stared into those familiar cold grey eyes which were now a very stormy grey, as they stared at him without recognition. "My alpha". He called out in a choked up manner, not recognising his own voice. Alpha Ethan raised up an arm already shifted to a paw, ready to strike and prince Ryder's eyes widen as he let out an ear pressing scream.

Without thinking, he let it rise. His shadow beneath him shifted—lengthened—until it flared outward like a living thing. Dark tendrils lashed from it, striking at the shapes around him. Each one it touched burst apart, scattering like smoke in wind. When the last dissolved, the circle dimmed. The silver threads cooled. The silent figure stepped forward. They regarded him for a long moment before speaking. “So. The blood still runs true.” Eolan caught his breath, his ribs aching where the shadow’s strike had landed. “What was that?”
