Lena's POV. “Hello, ma'am,” the doctor waved his left hand, and felt my pulse with his right hand. “How many fingers am I holding up?” “Can I get a name? Can you speak?” He continued, not even giving me a chance to think or respond. He suddenly stopped and pointed a little fluorescent light in my eyes. I squinted and groaned inaudibly from lying stiff for far too long. “Four, My name is Lena, and I think I can… talk,” I replied in a second, gulping as the man behind him moved closer and fixed his gaze on me.

My heartbeat faster with nervousness. "Lou I'm nervous!!!" I can see in Aleyn's face that she is really nervous. “You can do it! Go ahead!” It stood quite trembling. I looked at her and signaled to her that I was just here. As Aleyn introduces herself, my phone vibrates. A message from Adem. I know they have a class now but he was able to message. We share a lot of secrets.” “I’ll go call a doctor,” Levi said, his eyes on me for a moment before he left. As he walked out of the room with his head down, he dug into his pocket and pulled out his phone. For some reason, I wanted to leave the bed, go to him and comfort him. He just looked pitiable. Alejandro pulled me away from my thoughts when he spoke.

For a second, I could forget Ayla’s tear-streaked face and Ipek’s empty house. “Selamün Aleyküm (Peace be upon you), you little terrors!” I grinned at Adem and Adlee, tossing out the greeting to match their buzzing energy. “Aleyküm Selam!” (And upon you be peace) they chirped in unison. Adlee nudged me with his elbow, smirking. “What, no hugs for us? Rude, Manolya!” “Oh, please!” I swatted him away, laughing. “Go hug someone else. Pelin’s mine!”

For a while, no one said anything but then, Alee said, “Hey, my mate's not a trauma. Come on, mate.” “The name's Mason. In case you are wondering, I'm a natural born alpha.” Mason said. Their voice growing farther away as they go into the house. “The name's Alejandro Brown. You can call me Alee.” she said. “Your eyes are beautiful.” he said and she giggled.

Alev shook his head, and chuckled between coughs. He went upstairs, climbing them with difficulty. Adrian nodded at me, Alev was right. Before following a naked and shameless Alev to his room, Adrian and I put on a pair of shorts that were left in the living room drawers, for the days in which Alev forgets to take off his clothes before shifting to his Dragon—something that happened much more often than anyone would wish for.

“This pack will soon have its next Alpha, and Luna.” Adler’s mother smile, but I could see confusion in her eyes. “Darling?” The servant poured the Alpha a wine, which he raised afterwards. “My son, Adler is fated to my second in command, Avalynn Hewlett. A big surprise, isn’t it?” He took a sip. The smile not leaving his face like it was his signature. It was awkward for me. The only thing I could do was force a smile as I caught all of their attention. My eyes went down, discouraged to meet each of their gaze. I wasn’t in the condition to read their expression.
