The ringing sound of the doorbell follows. “Coming!” I get up and head to the door to find out who it is and what the person wants. I can't think of anyone who will be at the door this late at night. “How can I help you?” I question, scanning the unfamiliar figure I meet behind the door. His All-black clothing makes me instantly suspicious of him. “Are you Valery Hale?” The stranger asks back with his hands behind his back. How does he know my name? “Yes. How can I help you?” I ask again, still trying to decode his intentions.

The Alpha smiled as he stood up from his seat walking slowly towards me. "I..." I shuttered not knowing what to say seeing the Alpha walk towards me. "Evelyn, no need to bother about formalities, just call me Ethan." The Alpha smiled immediately when he got to me. "I...." I shuttered feeling rather confused wondering why the Alpha was acting rather strangely. Did he fall in love with me at first sight or what the hell was happening?

They are obviously having a private discussion. “So that’s where you disappeared too.” Colton, still totally oblivious, asks. Sometimes it is hard to believe he is an Alpha and not an overgrown kid. He is not picking up on any of the interactions. I smile at him, biting back a laugh “Yeah needed to blow off some steam and ran into Alpha Max.” Out of the corner of my eye, I see Alpha Max frown a little at me when I said Alpha. “More like I ran into you.” Alpha Max responds looking down at me and I can feel the intensity of his stare on me. With Hailey’s eyes on me, I didn’t dare look at him.

I stepped closer. Close enough now that if he moved wrong, it would end. “Then give me something useful.” My voice dropped. Low. Sharp. Controlled. A beat of silence. Then he did. “You don’t fail because you’re weak.” Good. I already knew that. “You fail because you hesitate.” That— That hit. Kaelen frowned. “Hesitate? Alpha Rex doesn’t hesitate.” Ash nodded. “Yeah, that’s kind of his whole thing.” The stranger shook his head slowly.

It was pathetic, watching my twin sister, my other half, unravel over a man who never saw her as anything but a shadow. And the worst part was the fact that she did not realize that he's been using her for a while. It was simple pleasure for him, something and someone that he can control. He did not want her around. “Alpha.” Alexander’s voice cut through the quiet. My second-in-command stood near the door, shoulders straight, eyes wary. He’d seen this before, the calm before I tore something apart. “You know not to bother me when I am in a mood.” “I believe that you need to hear this from me.” He said, looking away from me as he stepped inside.

“Then we find him.” Valerian nodded once. “We will. I’ll send my men east. I know the tides better than anyone.” As they walked toward the exit, Alexandro paused. “Thank you… for not being who I thought you were.” Alexandro meant what he said, and he thinks about a saying that even in the toughest time, something good will happen, and this is what it is. Alexandro will be forever grateful for the help that Valerian is going to do.

We first got a look at Amanda Walters during the event where she 'accidentally' ran into Alex. Our first thought on Amanda was mischievous, cunny, sharp-mouthed, and beautiful, but we sure as hell didn't expect her to steal Alex's bicycle and grandma's necklace, which she held on to for a really long time.

I said with emphasis at the end. Walter let out a cynical smile "Who knows, it might be more real than you imagine". One of my eyebrows rose in confusion. Walter was a calculating and dangerous alpha. He was known for his way of manipulating others. He was a man who knew what he wanted and got it.

Two sandwiches and a bowl of chili later, and I was full. Another wolf entered. He was very tall, probably six and a half feet. He had long blonde hair. Although not as muscular as either Alpha, he was clearly a powerful wolf. I noticed that Talia looked up at him but then blushed and looked away. I gave her a questioning look, but she quickly turned away from me. “Harley, this is Anders’ Beta, Neil.” He held out his hand and I took it, shaking his hand.

And there it was – a single paper well folded and hidden as though my parents didn’t want it to be found. Remembering the last few words I’d read on the net – He’s diligent and – I continued reading as I walked back to my table. - powerful but Levi wasn’t one of us… he’s from a different species. He’s a warlock. I stared at the paper in my hands. My chest and throat felt tight; my vision turning blurry. I tried to control it, telling myself that nothing was certain yet. I needed to discuss this with the other Alphas first but still…
