Lindsay asked, “Do you want me to pick you up, or do you want to climb up for me to hold you?” The little creature jumped up and down, then slowly and carefully climbed up Lindsay and into her arms. It seemed completely happy, as if they had known each other forever. Lindsay looked down at her with wonder and smiled. As they walked toward the van, Lindsay hoped she would be going to a safe place and not be locked in a cage for the rest of her life. When they reached the van, Randy opened the back doors. Inside, there was a wire mesh separating the front and back. In the back was a bowl of fresh-cut fruit, a small hammock hanging in one corner, and a horizontal bar in the other.

Amber could also hear people sobbing and moaning around her. She looked around to see she was inside what looked like a steel-reinforced cage that was the size of a motorhome. There was a God-awful smell inside the cage that made Amber gag. It smelled like rotting meat and vinegar. The stench instantly nauseated Amber and she could see a crowd of objects lying on the cage’s floor, and some of those objects were still moving.

and then headed to the right section and then the right floor. The elevator opened up into a pseudo-sunlit room with a fence in the middle. Inside the fence held taxidermy animals with labels hanging on them. There was a cheetah, a white tiger, a skunk, a muskrat, and a host of others. A gate opened up into the pen with a sign saying "Pet the Animals, But Be Gentle!" Jack recoiled. These were dead stuffed animals and most of these animals were extinct. You would be lucky to see cats, dogs, and horses in the upper class of society.

“Wait… Could this be where the missing shifters were held?” One cage caught the men’s undivided attention. It was the second-to-last cage from the back of the room. Several numbers were scratched out along the side of the cage: 6, 99, 145, on and on, but the final number was 399. Inside the cage was coated in grime from the unsanitary conditions. The smell of human waste and mold left a putrid sting in the men’s noses. But what kept their gazes was what was tucked in the very corner of the cold bleak cage. It was a very small… child. Kira elucidated beside me while giggling softly, and my heart flushed with happiness at the sight of her smile. "Yes," I said."A good day to die hard." I retorted with a smile plastered on my face. A buzzing sound was heard, and a small hole was visible on top of the cage. We watch in curiosity, waiting for whatever they are going to send out again. After what seemed like an entity, different weapons were thrown down on the cage floor. including short knives, spikes, bows, and arrows.

Offering the rodent a sunflower seed, it quickly eats it, and nuzzles into my hands. I hold the little animal close to my chest and back to Grace. “I am more than ready,” I repeat myself as I gently place the rodent in jar. Grace continues to ignore me as she places the lid on the jar and puts it back on the shelf. “If you aren’t going to talk to me… can we please let these little guys go.” Walking over to the shelf I gently tap one of the jars with a small green lizard in it. “Or at least give them a larger habitat?”

Neerah “Why the cages? This looks like a mini zoo” I expressed myself as I took in the overgrowing shrubs around the carefully built cages that looks like they belong in the zoo. “This one…” he points at a big cage house that has this fauna infested pond inside it. Perhaps animals like the alligator would live here?

“No… this is a cage.” The door closed behind me with a soft, final click. I ran to the window, desperate for a view of the outside world, but my heart sank the moment I touched the glass. It was cold. It was thick. It was reinforced. I pushed against it, then hammered my fist against the pane. It didn't even vibrate. “No…” I whispered. I turned back to the room, my eyes frantically searching the corners. That's when I saw it. A small, black lens tucked near the ceiling. A camera.

He asked her, his tone one of concern. She nodded, "Yes, I don't feel pain anywhere," she told him. "Well... that's good at least." Recson turned his attention to the big cage they were now standing on. The space between the two smaller cages was enough for three people to sit or even lie down. And there was even an unfurled straw mat. But that by no means reduced their tension. The room the cage was in was a well-furnished, brightly lit and spacious one. The luxurious bed in sight was at least more comfortable than the cage.

But I could always try my best to describe them all. There was a small, tiny figure that was already wrinkled and shriveled up like a shrimp. But I could tell that it was some kind of carcass, or dead body of a small animal. It looked like a rat, or hamster of some sort, but it had a pretty different figure. Like... an otter. What does an otter have to do with all of this??? .
