The demon, moving with an unsettling deliberateness, slowly ventured towards Belle, its form shifting and writhing as it advanced, drawing ever nearer to the trembling woman who had summoned it from the abyss. "A soul of a lowly harlot's offspring, hahaha," the demon intoned, its voice an indistinct amalgamation. Was it male or female? Such distinctions were irrelevant, for demons were once angels, and angels transcend human notions of gender.
