Lurking in the Dark - Book 2

Lurking in the Dark - Book 2

Reese pulled again, almost dragged me away from the stairs and led me through the underground corridor. There were no windows down here, just an old ventilation system that stuttered and supplied the air with oxygen. The part was broken so often that the temperatures down here were mostly sauna-like, but at the moment I didn't feel anything. My hands felt numb. My whole body felt numb. Not even Reese's presence could change that at the moment. Why? Why did something like this have to happen now, of all times, when my life was finally going on in a semi-regulated manner? Why couldn't I just lock the past in some dark hole so it could never bother me again? I just didn't get it.

The King's Brightest Star

The King's Brightest Star

It was still dark and the stars littered the sky, gleaming like a thousand diamonds. “I’ve never seen the night sky,” Ellis admitted. “Their universe is highly matured, so it is densely packed. That’s why the sky glitters like that… like it is illuminated by the stars alone and it doesn’t need a sun to brighten the planet,” Laurel said. “It’s strange that the sky can seem so beautiful even though the world is suffering,” Ellis whispered. “It just shows that the world will go on… the universe will move on no matter what.” Laurel gave her a pointed look.

This was such an interesting story! I enjoyed the characters and plot development. A recommended read! One hiccup was that throughout various chapters there was random errors in the names (e.g, Ellis named Bella). It was a bit distracting but not a deal breaker.

“Grows on meteorites? “She laughed slightly. “Yes. It looks like a diamond. Acts like a diamond. But it is a star stone. Somehow when I thought of that, I knew that was what I wanted to get you on the day our sons were born.” He said as he slipped it on her finger. “A piece of the stars from me to you.”

ICICLES OF GOLDEN BLOOD

ICICLES OF GOLDEN BLOOD

Akshara’s heart pumped more blood to know that she was the next to read that weird book with an eye. The book went to Azile who was got on her feet from an unknown faint. The weird look and efficiency of the book thrilled Azile and pages opened to her in words written in mud, “Awaken Love, Shall Not Be A Delight. Let Thy Onus, Vex Your Soul; Perish In Disgrace.” The prophecy book with an eye moved towards Akshara and stood in front of her. Upon eye to eye contact with Akshara, the book flipped its pages and finally settled in a page to uncover her prophecy; the letters appeared in blood made of gold. The prophecy of Akshara,

To bring it to life. The glow coming from the north had grown stronger and brighter, causing stars to fade and never allowing the night to be truly dark. The walls were splattered with black blood and shrieks were heard. The globes and golden ornaments around had burnt bloodred, causing the streets of the place to turn into a warm crimson glow almost as bright as the sun.

Bankrupting the Alpha: Crowned by the Dragon King

Aella POV I stepped forward. The moment my foot touched the path, the world unraveled. Light burst around me—not blinding, but alive. It shimmered like a storm of stars, wrapping around my body in a cascade of glittering brilliance. It sank into my skin, into my breath, into my very being, until I could no longer tell where I ended and it began. For a single, suspended heartbeat— I was nowhere. Then— I was somewhere else. The library was gone.

Beyond the Starlit River

Beyond the Starlit River

But the next second, the steward stepped out from the shadows and blocked the door completely. Adrian threw his head back and laughed. "How naive you are. Did you think it was a coincidence that you walked through the princess's residence so smoothly and found me here? I've moved through this place like a fish in water. Did it never occur to you that I had help in the shadows? "Today, Gideon Frost and that annoying little thing are dead. Now you've thrown yourselves into my net. How perfect." Adrian bared his teeth and thrust forward. There was no trace of his usual weakness.

You're a Werewolf

My eyes stop at a familiar word written in the chapter: Stars. Huh, that’s funny. Are there beings called Stars? If so, I haven’t heard of myths about them. What exactly are they? Before I could read further, the jewel on my locket suddenly begins to glow. I furrow my eyebrows in curiosity and squint my eyes at the light. I didn’t know this thing could shine that bright. It begins to float mid-air and as if it has a mind of its own, it drags me to the bookshelves.

Mated To My Lycan Prince

Mated To My Lycan Prince

The great glazed lamp on the roof had fallen to its lowest brightness, and only the crystal lamp on the table gave off a faint but steady glow. All the lilies in the hall glow in the dark, like countless yellow fireflies rising in the dark. The mirror under my feet reflected the fluctuating light, and the whole hall seemed to fall into a sea of night flowers. “Dear Delia, do you like it?” The deep voice slowly invaded my eardrums. I turned and saw his gentle eyes.

The Brightest Star

The Brightest Star

It was a full moon tonight, beautiful and breathtaking, yet so much hateful. I hate the moon, the stars, and that dark sky. I hate them with all my heart, yet I am doomed to never escape from the night. And there were also these burning torches surrounding me, torches which their intense flames seemed like they were about to devour me. But no matter how much I hated all of them, they didn't hurt me. They couldn't. Not like these dozens of contemptuous gazes around me.
