she asked quietly, her voice still hoarse from sleep. Alpha Asher walked to the side of the bed and set the books and tablet down on the bedside table. “I thought you might be bored,” he said quietly, his gray eyes softening when he saw Luna’s confused expression. “So I brought you some books to read and a tablet so you can watch movies.” Luna stared at him, stunned. No one had ever brought her books before. No one had ever thought about whether she was bored or lonely or scared. “Thank you, Alpha,” Luna said quietly, her voice filled with genuine gratitude. “That’s… very kind of you.”

She asked, sighed softly as I stared at her again. I could notice the little sadness in her face, and I totally understood why she was feeling that way. "Yes dear, but you can still be a Luna, if you marry an Alpha." I told her, hoping it would cheer her up. "What is a luna?" She asked me, while I smiled, staring at my innocent little daughter. "A luna is a wife to an Alpha, and she is just as respected and important as an Alpha." I explained, and immediately she smiled.

While I was digging for my own snacks, I grabbed her a juice box and joined her at the table. "Oh, it's for the Luna," she replied. "This is me, the Luna and the Alpha," she'd drawn them holding hands. "And that's you, and that girl is your girl, but I don't know her name yet," she finished, pointing to each person she drew as she announced them.

No one even asked if they like it and they can't ever back out because everyone is hoping for them. I know how it feels because I'm the anointed Alpha, I did not choose this, its the other side instead. The anointed Luna's life put in danger, at the aged of eight, some rouges tried to killed her. In order to protect her, she was hidden at the human world. They faked her death, only the Alpha, our Lycan and me, who knows where she is. For sure, her life there is so good. I even heard that she never spent a time for her training. Tsk. I hoped that she will not cause any trouble here.

I order a simple meal of pancakes, sausage and fruit, while the Alpha already uses a portion of meat. “Hmmm, Mercedes. I spoke to Alpha Glary on the phone this morning and reported that you are here to speak to Saphira. He says you are the future Luna of Silver Moon and urged me to treat you with due respect”, he tells me meaningfully. Frowning, I look at Alpha Rainer, searching his face for an indication that he is joking. But he appears dead serious. Again I sigh deeply, I'm really tired of these persistent admirers. “You must have misunderstood. I am the Luna of Midnight Moon, my mate is Alpha Zane. Glary is just the Alpha's son of the pack to which I now temporarily belong”, I point out.

** By the time the sun has fully come up, the news is around the camp. "The Alpha has secretly arrested his Luna, and for a reason nobody knows." The mumbles going about with regards to this vary, and bear versions so different that the audacity of the original teller in spreading such outrageous lies baffles me. One of them says that the Luna has a secret lover besides the Alpha, and that he has already killed him and is only waiting to execute the same judgement on his Luna. The other says that the Alpha has discovered that his Luna has had no child for him yet because she is a witch who kills and murders her babies in the womb to enhance her powers. I feel myself tempted to believe this o

warriors to be on a 24/7 watch around every person you hold dear to you. I hope you don’t mind but when I got your phone number and address I used your last name and looked you up.” She came over and sat down next to me, “You stalked me?” She giggled a little. “Well, I wouldn’t necessarily call it stalking, but I definitely looked into your background.” I grabbed her hand and stroked the top of it with my thumb, “I’ll make sure no harm comes to your family. I promise, Tyler.” She grabbed a strand of her pony tail and started twirling it in her fingers, “What is a Luna?” Her question kind of took me by surprise but I was happy that she was asking more about my people and traditions, “A Luna
