She knew he needed to go, that he was the pack Alpha and had work to do, but the idea of him getting up, of him walking out of the room and leaving her all alone with her dreams, made her nervous. “Are you all right?” he asked, as if he could feel her shaking. Mercy took a deep breath. “I just… I don’t think I want to be alone. I mean, I think… I’ve been alone a lot. And it’s scary.” “Don’t worry, Mercy. I won’t go anywhere.” “But you're the Alpha.
