I don’t know how he found me, but his expression was filled with words. "Your father is dying, Jenny!" He threw these words at me, confident that he could make me crumble. I still remember my father and long for the pack; it was my world. I almost took a step forward, trying to understand what had happened, but then I saw Max’s questioning eyes. Dragon advanced, his eyes angry upon seeing Max approaching me. He said, glaring at Max, "You must return, Jenny. Alpha Anderson is waiting for you." Max stepped in front of me, facing Dragon directly, and said, "She will not go with you alone. I am coming too."

Denver chuckled at my words, drawing my eyes back up to his face and shooting him a questioning look. "Are you arrogant, or just trying to impress me?" I asked before I could really understand the full extent of my comment. Once it hit me though, I quickly covered my mouth and felt my eyes grow wide in shock.
